Colorful Haunted House

Not exactly a more traditional  orange and black Halloween card, but it is a fun card!  I sponged some Night of Navy ink on Tempting Turquoise cardstock for the background.  The house is an image from Dare2BArtzy's Haunted House stamp set.  The fence is a die that coordinates with this Haunted House set and their Gingerbread House stamp set.  The little cat is a Lawn Fawn image and the bats are from Amuse, an older company no longer in business.  The bat dies have gotten used more than any other die set I own~~maybe a bit of an exaggeration!

On another note, some of Matt's chickens are laying eggs.  The eggs so far have been white or beige.  And then yesterday, these are two of the eggs Matt found.  They are really pretty.   Although the one looks more blue, Matt said it is more mint green.  Have a great holiday weekend and find yourself a little stampin' time!

Happy Fall

Lawn Fawn's Pick of the Patch is a too cute stamp set.  After stamping and embossing the pumpkins and squirrels, I cut them out on my Scan N Cut.  After coloring the images with Copic markers, I set those images aside as I die cut leaves using Lawn Fawn's Small Stitched Leaves dies.  After inking the white layer with distress ink, I played with the layout of the pumpkins and leaves before adhering them.  Once things looked good, I adhered everything using dimensionals to pop up the pumpkin with the cute little squirrel.  The twine bow and a few sequins complete the card.  The Night of Navy card base and pattern paper contrast with the oranges and yellows of the images and is as  striking as the card is cute.  Have a great day!

Squirrel!

I purchased a few stamps from Dare2BArtzy at the Scrapbook Expo.  That being said, the card I am posting today was created using my friend's purchase of Dare2BArtzy's Squirrel! stamp set and dies.  Squirrel! was a stamp set I meant to purchase and forgot! The colors, the acorns and the embossed Cajun Craze layer scream Fall.  Many, many years ago I used my Cricut to make a slightly larger version of Stampin' Up's Deco Label punch.  Then I cut the larger deco label in the cardstock colors Stampin' Up had back then.  I made way too many! The sentiment from the Squirrel! stamp set fit perfectly in the punch.  Well after all these years, I used a More Mustard deco label layer! I added twine to the card front and then popped up the sentiment with dimensionals.  A few sequins were the finishing touch.   Have a great day!

Birthday Sunflowers

As warm as it is outside, I can feel Fall in the air.  So today I am posting a card that reminds me of Fall.  The sunflowers are from RGstudio360.com's Bold Flowers digital stamp set.  I took the single sunflower, pulled it into Word and then made three different sized sunflowers.  The greeting is from Stampin' Up's Cottage Greeting set.  I really like this card and I enjoyed coloring the flowers.  Have a great day!

Halloween Shaker

While shopping online at MFTstamps.com, I decided to purchase their oval shaker window and frame dies and the oval shaker pouches.  When I make a shaker card I usually use acetate and foam and circle or oval dies to make the shaker~~many elements to make the shaker.  So I made today's Halloween card as a trial card.  With the shaker pouches and dies this card was much quicker to put together.  Now I wonder if this card will go thru the Postal Service without the shaker pouch smashing and will it require extra postage? If it doesn't get crushed and doesn't cost extra postage, I just might start using MFT's supplies to make shaker cards!  Have a great day!

Butterfly Birthday Card

Today is my friend, Kathy Z's birthday.  This is the card I sent to wish her a wonderful day.  The butterfly and flower are from Dare2BArtzy's stamp set Butterfly Inspiration.  They were colored with Copic markers and cut out on my Scan N Cut.  The pretty cardstock is Stampin' Up's Petal Pink.  To me it looks more orange than pink and the orange butterflies look very nice with it.  The embossed background was achieved using SU's Layered Leaves embossing folder. Happy birthday, Kathy!  Have a great weekend and find yourself a little stampin' time!

Mini Pillow Boxes

At the Expo, I came across this cute little pillow box favor at the Stamps of Life booth.  But I did not purchase it.  Over the weekend I was wishing I had purchased it.  I looked on Amazon.com and they had it.  So, I ordered and had it in a couple of days and played with it right after it arrived.  These are a couple mini pillow boxes I made while playing.  Each pillow box holds a mini Hershey bar or a Dove Promise.  I am sure it can hold many things but it is not thick enough to hold a Hershey Kiss.  It is roughly 2-3/4"x 1-3/4".  These are also cute little "money" holders.  I wonder what the Cricut Sunday favors will be!  Have a great day!

Make A Joyful Noise

The first vendor's booth we stopped in at the Scrapbook Expo was Dare 2B Artzy.  Prior to the Expo, I was not familiar with them. They had some of the prettiest and cutest stamp sets.  One set, Joyful Noise, kept calling my name.  Needless to say I purchased it along with a few others.  I used the Couture Creations Tied Together embossing folder for the background layer.  The little bird was colored using alcohol markers.  These cards will be going in the mailbox this morning/  Have a great day!

Baby Girl Card

Last week I posted the cute Navy and Yellow Dragon baby card.  I mentioned that I had to make a girl version because I liked the layout.  So here is the baby girl version!  I used a giraffe from WPlus9's Wild Thing stamp set and colored the little giraffe using pink and gray Copic markers.  The sentiment is the same as last week's card from the Stampendous set Tweet Chirps.  I used Basic Gray cardstock and the retired Smokey Slate checked ribbon.  This one, too, is very cute!

The Scrapbook Expo was so fun and had too many things I needed!!  After I got home and looked thru my purchases, I found that I did nothing near the damage I did last year!  Don't get me wrong.  I spent enough money, but made much wiser purchases than I did last year~~I think.   Have a great day!

Welcome Little One

Today's card started out as a butterfly card, but the butterfly idea ended as I started to create a sketch I saw online.  It was just to babyish for a butterfly!  So, I colored one of the dragons from MFT's Magical Dragons and made it a baby card!  The Night of Navy ribbon and cardstock is from Stampin' Up and the yellow tiny check paper is from My Favorite Things. The layout is so cute that I am going to make a baby girl version of it!

Tomorrow I will be at the Scrapbook Expo so I will tell you now to have a great weekend!

Color Challenge

Yesterday there was a color challenge posted on the RG Studio 360 Community Facebook page.  Since the challenge was in my favorite colors~~shades of turquoise blue~~I made this card for the challenge.  You also needed to use a RG Studio 360 image.  The image I used is from the Spring Fling digital set and the sentiment is from the Boho Classic digital set.  This could be a cute anniversary card.  People are making some very beautiful cards for this challenge!  Have a great day!

Fluttering Friends

I ordered the Fluttering Friends stamp set from My Favorite Things.  I need to give MFT Stamps a shout out here for their shipping.  Not only is it free shipping on orders of $50 or more, I ordered on August 8th and I received the order on August 11th!   As soon as the order arrived, I had to play with the items.  I stamped some dragon flies and when they were cut out, I decided to use Stampin' Up's Highland Heather cardstock for a background layer.   Both the Highland Heather and White cardstock layers were die cut using Avery Elle's Wonky Stitches dies  The sentiment is also from the Fluttering Friends stamp set which includes a number of other sentiment stamps. Have a great day!

Serene Garden

Paula was here yesterday and she brought a new Stampin' Up stamp set, Serene Garden.  To me, it was one of the sets that was just ok when looking thru the SU Annual Catalog.  But then I used it for today's card and it really is much  prettier than it shows in the catalog.  After stamping, I colored the image with Copic markers.

My husband's aunt just celebrated her 97th birthday and there is a you tube video of her playing the piano at her senior center.  It was an inspiring video and I wanted to let her know that we think she is amazing.  The sentiment is from the Pretty Pink Posh stamp set, Everyday Greetings.  It is a greeting set that I find myself using more and more.  Between the image and the sentiment, this is a perfect card for Aunt Rose.  Have a great day!

Hello Sweetie

Wednesday evening was RG Studio 360's virtual monthly card class.  This month's digital stamp set is Hello Sweetie.  The stamp set is cute, but not exactly my type of flowers. The cards are pretty though. Nonetheless, I enjoyed the class and I do like the layouts of the cards.  In fact, I will be using other flower stamp sets to recreate these same layouts.  As mentioned before, it is nice having everything cut out and ready to assemble.  I did do the coloring and then the cutting out of the images using my Scan N Cut.  Have a great weekend and find yourself a little stampin' time!

Happy Thoughts

You know the rectangle that I cut out so there would be a frame around the poppy for yesterday's card?  I used that rectangle on today's card! I used a retired SU punch for the Close To Cocoa decorative edge.  The reason I chose Close To Cocoa was because I already had the cute little birds colored and they matched!  The sentiment is from Everyday Greetings by Pretty Pink Posh.  It was stamped on white cardstock and then I used a Wonky Stitched Circle framelit (MFT) to cut it out. This is a  cute card that used many leftover scraps of cardstock.  This could be an adorable anniversary card.   Have a great day!

Poppy Parade

The other day I ran across previously stamped/embossed poppies and decided to color one for this card.  Using Copic markers, I colored it and then wondered what to do with it.  I had found some retired Poppy Parade Designer Series Paper from long ago and decided to use it to make a frame for the poppy.  I used an Avery Elle Wonky Stitched framelit to do that.  The poppy fit nicely.  After deciding where to place the poppy I stamped the sentiment from Stampendous' Friendly Phrases set.  The card was finished!  This card truly was clean and simple and took little time.  Have a great day!

Special Day

Yesterday I received this month's card kit from RG Studio 360.  I realized that I never posted cards from last month's kit, Special Day. The kit included all of the cardstock and pieces, a printed set of the digital stamps, embellishments, etc.  All I had to do was color, cut the pieces on my Scan N Cut and put the cards together.  I did not follow RG's cards exactly, but it is nice to not have to do any of the preparing and gathering supplies.  Have a great day and find yourself a little stampin' time!

Birthday Candles

Today's card was created using the RG Studio 360 digital set, Party On.  A while back I had combined the candles and sentiment in Word and then saved it to my computer.  Now when I want to use it, I just need to print it and color it.  After using a corner punch on two corners, I used Copic markers to color the candles, tied ribbon around the white cardstock and adhered it to the pattern paper using dimensionals.  Have a great day and keep dry!!

Birthday Blooms

Today's card was created using the flower bouquet image from Stampin' Up's Birthday Blooms stamp set.  As pretty as the flowers are, what is very pretty is the cardstock I used.  It is SU's retired Crisp Cantaloupe, a favorite of mine, which was embossed with the Couture Creations Tied Together embossing folder.   Layering Circle framelits were used to create the white circle with the scalloped circle layered on top.  The circles and the image were all adhered using dimensionals.  The three little pearls look much prettier in person!  They definitely don't look like little splotches!!  Have a great weekend!

Happy Hello

A couple of weeks ago I was playing with water coloring with reinkers and rubbing alcohol.  I had a miscellaneous piece of embossed white cardstock so I sprayed it with alcohol and then painted the reinker/alcohol mixture onto the cardstock.  That is what I used for the three Coastal Cabana embossed panels on today's card.  The embossed pattern had a tropical feel, so I added the little hula girl from MFT stamps.  The Coastal Cabana panel to which the "happy" is adhered is a piece of Stampin' Up's Shimmery White cardstock painted with the alcohol/reinker solution.  You cannot see it on the picture, but it glistens as you move the card around. Looks very pretty.  Have a great day!

Happy Tomorrows

Today's card reminds me of the nice weather we have had lately.  The sentiment is from Stampin' Up's Colorful Seasons stamp set and the chair from the coordinating Seasonal Layers dies.  The sun was created by using the negative space of a punched circle.  I placed that circle where I wanted it on the card and then sponged yellow/orange inks into it.  The blue cardstock is MFT's Blue Breeze color.  It is a very pretty shade of blue, pretty close to SU's retired Bashful Blue.  This is one of those cards that would be easy to make multiples of, even in different colors.  Inside could be a birthday sentiment or congratulatory message, etc.  Have a great day and find yourself a little stampin' time!
