Thank You Wreath

Happy Friday!  Today's card is one that I actually made!  After the past week of posting great creations by others, I am ending the week with a card of my own.  Both the image and sentiment are from the Circle of Spring stamp set.  After stamping the image in black Versafine ink, I heat embossed it using clear embossing powder.  I used Spectrum Noir markers to color the wreath.  Retired DSP and a few sequins complete the card.  Have a great weekend and find yourself a little stampin' time!

Nancy's Easter Chicks

Another card from my friend, Nancy, today's card is so darn cute!  She used Stampin' Up's owl punch for the chicks and even the egg!  Nancy stamped the grass and foliage and added the pretty yellow flowers to match the chicks!  So, so cute!  Thanks, Nancy, for sharing!  Have a great day!

Little Easter Milk Carton Favors

Today I am sharing Kathy Z's pretty Easter favors. After stamping the bunny image from Stampin' Up's Little Bit of Spring, Kathy used Aqua Pens and ink to color in the images.  Various sizes and coordinating ovals were die cut using the Oval Framelits.  Kathy made 80 of these favors!!!!  Such a nice Mom and Grandma.

I surely do hang around with very talented ladies and that is to say nothing of their great senses of humor!!!!  Have a great day!

Pretty Plaid Favors

I try to make a little favor for the girls each month for Cricut Sunday.  This week's favor was created after I watched a video I saw by Pootles, a Stampin' Up demonstrator. Inside this little package is a Biscoff cookie.  When I saw Pootles make  a favor using individually wrapped Biscoff cookies, I had to try making them.   Of course, I first had to find individually wrapped cookies which I did~~at Walmart.com.  The pretty plaid paper is from Lawn Fawn and the ribbon is mostly from Michael's.   For the butterflies I used watercolored Shimmery White cardstock that I just punched and to which I added a pearl.  Have a great day!

Sympathy Card by Nancy

Hope everyone had a good weekend.  I did and to make it even better, it was Cricut Sunday yesterday.  Only one of the girls worked on her Cricut.  The rest of us worked on other things.  Maybe we should change the name--lol!!!   Nancy was putting together the elements of this sympathy card she created.  It was so pretty I had to take a pic and post it.  After die cutting an oval in the center of  retired Designer Series Paper, Nancy stamped the sentiment on white paper, framing the sentiment in that oval frame.  Nancy had stamped and embossed the white outlined flowers on Vellum and die cut them. You cannot see it on this picture, but the embossed lines were sparkly, too. She also die cut the leaves which she then sponged around the edges.  After adhering the leaves and the Vellum flowers to the card she added little pearls.   This is a very pretty and elegant sympathy card.  Thanks for sharing, Nancy.   Have a great day!

Bunny In A Pail

Starting the day with a cute Easter card.  The images are from Simon Says Stamp's Springtime Critters set.  I colored the images with Copic markers.  The plaid paper perfectly matched Stampin' Up's retired Strawberry Slush cardstock.  I used Avery Elle's Wonky frames for two of the layers.  And then Strawberry Slush butterflies filled in the white space.   Enjoy the warm Spring day  today!  Have a great weekend and find yourself a little stampin' time!

Pretty Birthday Wishes

Today's card was created using the Avant Garden stamp set, a Sale-a-bration freebie.I used Stampin' Up's Many Marveous markers to color directly on the stamp.  I used Old Olive for the stem and leaves and Elegant Eggplant for the flowers.  After stamping the image, I then used Pear Pizazz  and Wisteria Wonder to fill in the stem, leaves and flowers.  The sentiment is also from the same stamp set.  The embossing folder I used is not an SU product, but it is very pretty and I have used it in the past.  The Elegrant Eggplant Baker's twine is a pretty accent.  Have a great day!

Cute Little Blue Bird

This little bird is from the Stampendous set, Spring Tweets.  I practiced coloring him using Copic markers.  I have brown birds, gray birds and this blue bird.  Since this card was for someone special to all of us, I asked Sydney which bird she would want on Grandmum's card.  She immediately chose the bluebird. The paper that the bird, branch and flowers are adhered to is one of designs in the Antique Library pack of paper from Wild Rose Studio.  Stampin' Up's retired color, Close To Cocoa, was perfect with the paper. (Close To Cocoa was and still is one of my Favorite browns.)  The sentiment is from  the Tweet Chirps set.  On the inside is the die cut word "hug".  Have a great day!

Scraps

The frame and the butterflies are leftover pieces that I couldn't throw away.  It is so easy to watercolor a piece of watercolor paper or Shimmery White for future use when you have the supplies out.  I have a cellophane bag that I keep the unused pieces in and when I need something, out come the scraps.  The frame on this card originally was a full layer for a card.  But I changed my mind and used only the center.  The little butterflies are more of my extras.  The sentiment is from my very favorite, most used sentiment stamp set, Watercolor Wishes.  Have a great day!

Hello Spring!

A cute little bird card to welcome in the first day of Spring.  I colored this little guy using Prisma colored pencils and Gamsol.  I so like this Stampendous stamp set, Spring Tweets.  The set has three cute, chubby little birds and I have colored them all at least twice.  Some turned out, others did not.  I had the best luck with the colored pencils. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up's Circle of Spring stamp set.  The little butterfly was punched from a scrap piece of Shimmery white cardstock that had been watercolored with a few pale ink colors.  A Clarity brush and Distress ink helped create the soft edging around the white cardstock.  The card still needed a little something, so a couple of musical notes and twine did the job.  Have a great day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Today's post is another showing Kathy Z's talent when it comes to making favors!  Kathy used the penguin, hat and bow tie from Stampin' Up's Snow Place stamp set. I am not sure which set the sentiment is in, but the font is so fun for St. Patrick's Day.  Did I ever tell you that when Kathy Z makes favors, she makes about 80 of them?  Her daughter is a school principal and Kathy makes favors for everyone on staff and then for her grandchildren's' teachers, too!  I like favors a lot, but that is an awful lot of favor for each holiday during the school year.  Thanks, Kathy, for the inspiration!  Have a great weekend and if you go out tonight, be careful!

Syd's Painting

The last couple of days I have been gathering what I need to have for my taxes instead of being in my scrap room.  So today I am sharing a pretty piece of artwork that Sydney made for our anniversary.  After painting the background in various shades of turquoise on canvas, she then painted the bird and the words using black acrylic paints.  She is a talented girl and we are so very proud of her.  Recently, she found out that a piece of her artwork was chosen to represent her junior high school and will be on display at the Elk Grove Library.  Looking at this art helped me to "be happy" while doing taxes!  Have a great day!

Sympathy Card From A Sketch

The card sketch shown here was the one used to create today's sympathy card.  The various papers are from Wild Rose Studio's paper pad, Antique Library.  It is a pretty assortment of vintage paper.  The pages measure 6" x 6".  The two packs of Wild Rose Studio paper that I have are very pretty.  The paper is more light weight than most.  I have seen prices from about $6 to as high as $15 or more.  I paid $6 for one pack and $7 for another.  So you have to look around to make sure you are getting a good price.   Have a great day!

Watercolor Butterflies

The nice weather we were having made me think Spring.  So out came Stampin' Ups' Elegant and Bitty butterfly punches.  I saw a very similar card on Pinterest and there was a video showing how it was made.  I wet down a piece of Shimmery White cardstock and then using a paint brush dipped in paints, dotted the colors on the wet Shimmery White cardstock.  I used two shades of pink and an orange from the Simply Art watercolor set I have.  And it is the least expensive set of watercolors I own!  I moved the cardstock a little to help spread the paints and used my heat tool to dry it.  After punching the butterflies,  I played with the arrangement on the Shimmery White Layer.  Before adhering the larger butterflies, I did stamp antennae.  I layered  that  onto a Pink Pirouette layer before adhering to the white card base.  A few pretty pale pink sequins complete the card.  I am not happy with the flower that is part of the sentiment, but it's ok.  Hope you like today's card as much as I do~~especially as I see the snow covered yard!

It's Your Birdday!

Today's card is a combination of Simon Says and Stampendous stamps.  The images are from Simon Says' Springtime Critters set and the words are from the Stampendous set, Tweet Chirps.  After stamping the images using Versafine black ink, I colored them in using Copic markers.  Once again I used the Molotow masking liquid on the colored images.  After the masking liquid dried, I brushed on green, yellow and blue distress inks using my Clarity brushes.  After stamping the words, I decided to add another little bird, but instead added a little black smudge. So in place of a little bird, the card has a few little sequins!  Have a great day and be careful if you go out and about in the snow.

Peeking In!

I watched a Jennifer McGuire video the other day regarding masking.  She showed a variety of ways to mask in the video.  Jennifer demonstrated using Molotow Masking Liquid.  Since I had purchased that product quite a while ago (and never used it), I decided to try it.  After stamping the cute little kitten from Stampin' Up's Pretty Kitty, I colored it in using Spectrum Noir markers.  When the coloring was done, I applied the liquid mask, covering all of the image.  After letting the mask dry for about 15 minutes, I then sponged distress inks along the lower right corner of the card sponging right over the masked image.  I sponged very lightly so as to not ruin the image.  (Next time I will not be so gentle with the sponging!)  Anyway, after I was finished sponging, I then rubbed the liquid mask off with my fingers.  Now even the white space between the flowers is pale blue.  The colored image didn't change in the least!  I added the sentiment, punched a decorative corner and added colorful sequins. The Molotow Liquid Mask will be used again!  Have a great weekend and find yourself a little stampin' time!

Baby Pop Up Box Card

Today's card is one that I spent a little time on.  I started with making the box using Lawn Fawn's Scallop Box Card Pop Up dies.  Once assembled I then added all the little animals.  The elephants are from the LF stamp set Elphie Selfie and palm trees are from the LF stamp set Life Is Good.  The giraffes are from WPlus9's Party Animal stamp set and dies.  And the cute blue parrot is from Clearly Besotted's Some Birdie Loves You set.  All of the images were colored in with Spectrum Noir markers.  Having the box card dies made it much easier to create the box card.  I probably should have first created something a little simpler, but it turned out cute anyway.   This is for a special dad and mom-to-be.  Have a great day!

Cute Bunnies

Another Wild Rose Studio stamp, the Spring Bunnies stamp is so cute.  I colored in the little bunnies with Prisma colored pencils and Gamsol.  I then used two of four Lawn Fawn Fancy Scalloped dies, one for the stamped layer and a larger one for the lilac layer.  I am not sure which sentiment I will add to the card~~maybe Happy Easter or Hello Spring or Love You.   Have a great day!

Pool Party Birthday

I have quite a bit of Stampin' Up Designer Series Paper, both current and retired.  Today's card used a pattern from the Birthday Bouquet DSP which was available in last year's Occasions Mini. I paired it with retired Subtles DSP.   Again, I used a card sketch for the layout of this card.  There are tons of card sketches on the internet.  If you are ever at a loss as to where to start when making a card, just enter "card sketches on Pinterest" in the search line.  Have a great day!

Feel Better Lighthouse

I never seem to have enough masculine cards so over the weekend I used a couple lighthouse stamp sets to fix that!  Today's card was created using Stampin' Up's From Land To Sea.  I used basic gray cardstock and DSP paper.  To add a little texture, my score board came in handy for creating embossed lines.  The sentiment is from a retired stamp set.  The card seemed a little "empty" on the embossed lines side, so I added three white Candy Dots which unfortunately are no longer available.  Have a great day!

Cute Easter Box

You all know that I am into favors.  When Lawn Fawn released their Fancy Box die set, I ordered it and here is the first favor I made using it.  I especially like the scalloped edge for the closure.  This box measures about 3-1/2" x 2-1/4" x 7/8".  I used scraps of pattern paper and an egg die from another Lawn Fawn die set to make the little eggs with which I embellished the top of the favor. I am sure that I will have many versions of the Fancy Box after I play with it more.  But really, I wanted to show how the Ghiradelli Milk Chocolate Carmel bunny fits the oval window perfectly! And there is still room for other little Easter treats!  Have a great weekend and find yourself a little Stampin' time!

Little Brown Bella

The cuteness continues.  SU's Bella & Friends stamp set is darn cute!  Last week I received Brewster (Bella) & Friends dies from Dies By Dave.  Even though they match Stampin' Up's stamp set, Dave cannot use the SU names when selling his dies.  So, Bella became Brewster for the die set!  I colored Bella using Copic markers and adhered her to a die cut piece of foam before adhereing her to the Layering Circles from Staminp' Up.  Polka dot paper and a little scallop edge complete the card.  The sentiment is from an old stamp set.  This card is a nice combination of SU's old and new.  Have a great day!

Happy Hatchling

I must tell you now that the remainder of this week's posts will all be sooo cute!  Today I am starting off with a card that uses Lawn Fawn's Happy Hatchling die set.  I watched a video on Lawn Fawn's blog from February18th in which this card was made and I knew I had to have the dies.  I die cut everything, put it together and stamped the sentiment.  Unfortunately, I used clear embossing powder instead of white for the sentiment~~oops.  The grass and little flowers are not part of the Happy Hatchling set.   But even without the grass and flowers, this card is just too cute!  Have a great day!
