In The Meadow

Today's card is clean and simple.  After stamping the tree from Stampin' Up's In The Meadow stamp set, I tore the edges of the white cardstock.  Once the edges were torn, I sponged those edges with Espresso Ink and added a sentiment.  The sentiment is from SU's Sheltering Trees.  Again, this is  another card that can be used for just about any occasion.  Every once in the while it pays to spend time looking at Pinterest.  Something there might spark a reminder of a technique you like and haven't used in a while!  Have a great day!

Rain or Shine

My Favorite Things has some of the cutest stamp sets.  They have dies to match almost every stamp set, but since I have the Scan N Cut, I have not been purchasing the dies.  For the background on today's card, I taped off the edges of the white cardstock.  After sponging Distress Inks on the white cardstock, I removed the tape (carefully) and there is a nice white border.  All of the images are from the Rain or Shine stamp set.  The little ducks are just adorable!  Have a great day and stay dry!

Sympathy Cards

This has been a sad week as we needed three sympathy cards. I was in a coloring mood, so out came a page from RG Studio 360's Create A Wreath digital stamp set.  The purple layer on the card to the left is Stampin' Up's new Gorgeous Grape cardstock.  It is a pretty purple.  After coloring and arranging the flowers, a little twine was added and the rhinestones were colored using an alcohol marker.

Before adhering the flowers to the card with the Old Olive cardstock, I sponged Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink on the white layer.  Again I colored the rhinestones to match the card, this time using a yellow alcohol marker.  If my scalloped corner punch ever breaks, I will truly miss it!  It always adds such an elegant touch to each card for which it was used.  Have a great day!

Graduation Day

Yesterday was a very special day.  Sydney graduated eighth grade from Mead Junior High School.  We are so proud of this girl!!!  She worked hard and achieved this milestone with the support of her parents.  And speaking of her parents, both Jen and Mark graduated from Mead Jr. High 29 years ago this month!

I used MFT Stamps' Too Cute Turtles and Lawn Fawn's Hats Off To You stamp sets to create her graduation card. The sentiment is also from the Turtle stamp set.

Sydney Elizabeth, we have been proud of you since the day you were born.  You never cease to amaze us with your use of the blessings you have been given.  You are a joy to many (especially to me)!

Have a great Memorial Day weekend everyone!

Birthday Dragon

The dragons from My Favorite Things Magical Dragons set are so cute, I had to color and use one more!  This time I used the brick embossing folder on white cardstock and then lightly sponged the edges of the bricks using gray ink. The dragon is not as colorful as those on the previous dragon card, but it is adorable.  I originally was planning on having the "Happy Birthday" embossed using Versamark ink and white embossing powder.  But after stamping with Versamark, I poured clear embossing powder over it instead.  It looks like I used a darker gray ink for the sentiment.  I added a layer of foam to the underside of the gray layer before adhering it to the card and added a few stars.  Have a great day and find yourself a little stampin' time!

Welcome Baby Cards

Today I am posting the baby cards I made for the baby shower I attended over the weekend.  The    Storybook 1 framelit  is from Pretty Pink Posh and was used for the periwinkle cardstock.  For Mommy's card I added the animals and sentiment inside the opening.  For Grandma's card, I used the cut-outs left from Mommy's card.  I popped them up with dimensionals and then added the animals and sentiment.  Now we just have to wait for the baby's arrival to find out if it is a boy or girl!  Have a great day!

Baby Shower

I attended a baby shower yesterday and Grandma Sheryl made the decorations.  She put a lot of love and time into everything. Today's post includes a couple of pictures of the diaper cakes she created.  She had the bigger one on the main table and each table had a smaller diaper cake for the centerpiece.  Sheryl made the invitations and favors, too.  She put her Cricut to work making all of the animals for everything and printing invitations!  Aren't  they so cute?  Have a great day!

Magical Dragons

I didn't really need MFT's Magical Dragons stamp set, but the little dragons were just too cute to pass up. The stamp set is adorable and can be used for numerous occasions. (The cute little dragon would be perfect on a new baby card.)   The background was embossed with Stampin' Up's Brick Wall embossing folder.  The sentiment is from an Amuse stamp set and was stamped in Versamark and then heat embossed with white embossing powder.  Since this was the first card I created using Magical Dragons, I am sure that between now and Father's Day this card will be improved on more than once!  Have a great day!

Rain or Shine

I have been coloring images from new My Favorite Things stamp sets and I thought I should probably stop coloring and make a card so I have something to post!  Since we had such a rainy evening yesterday, I used the little girl and her cute ducks from MFT's stamp set, Rain or Shine.  Once again, the set does have coordinating dies, but I use the SNC instead.  The images were colored with alcohol markers and I used a white gel pen to create the polka dots.  I will stamp one of the sentiments inside when I know for what I will be using the card.  Have a great day and once again, stay dry!!

Too Cute Turtle

Happy Monday!  I had a wonderful Mother's Day with family and friends.  I also spent some time playing with a new stamp set from My Favorite Things Stamps, Too Cute Turtles.  This set  consists of cute images and sentiments.   A set of dies is also available, but since I have the Scan N Cut, I did not purchase the dies.  I am no longer a Stampin' Up demonstrator which means I can actually show pics of stamp sets I use for my cards.  Have a great day and stay dry!

Wreath Card Class

I mentioned earlier in the week that I was taking an online class at RGStudio360.com.  When I signed up for the card club, I was sent the makings for the four cards for this month.  That included the digital images.  I colored the images ahead of time and cut them out on the Scan N Cut.  Today's post is of the four cards I created from that class.  There were sentiments for all four cards, but since I needed Mother's Day cards, I added my own sentiments to two of them.  Richard added little splatters to his cards, but I chose not to add the splatters to mine,  They were pretty enough without the splatters for me.  The rhinestones are not showing, but they do add just the right amount of sparkle.  I am looking forward to seeing what next month's class is going to be!  Have a great weekend and a very Happy Mother's Day!

Little Astronaut

I was cleaning up my island so that I would have a clear work space for RG Studio 360's online card class.  You know how that goes!  I found stamped images from MFT Stamp's Space Explorer set and thought that was the better thing to work on!  I used alcohol markers to color the images.  Everything was adhered to a piece of Blueberry Bushel cardstock that was embossed with a retired Stampin' Up folder.  As I was coloring the little astronaut, I was thinking that this could be a little girl astronaut, too.  Next time, I color the stripes pink and the background will be purple!   Have a great day!

It's Official...

...I have resigned my demoship with Stampin' Up!  It was a great 10 years and I enjoyed the time, classes and people I met over the years.  Thank you to all who have made these 10 years
successful, fun and creative!

Today's card was created using Your Next Stamps' Jessica's Kitten.  The kitten is adorable and I like the color combination of the cardstock.  The blue is one of Stampin' Up's new In colors, Blueberry Bushel.  It is nice they have a more primary shade of blue.  Plus it goes with so many colors; i.e., Limeade from My Favorite Things Stamps.

Speaking of MFT Stamps, they have changed their shipping charges so that it is free shipping on orders of $50 or more, after discounts and before tax.  And they are having a 5% off sale on everything for the next couple of days.  Have a great day and find yourself a little stampin' time!

Wreathes

I am trying something different.  I signed up for six months of Richard Garay's monthly card classes/kits.  I will be receiving supplies to be used such as precut cardstock, twine and printed images (ready to be cut on the Scan N Cut or fussy cut), etc. (I am pretty sure you can use his files with the Cricut, but not sure how that would work.)  Today's card was created using digital images from RG Studio 360's Create A Wreath set..  The images were colored with alcohol markers and then I designed the card.  The sentiment is from Stampin' Up's Teeny Tiny Wishes set which is being retired!  But SU is introducing a new sentiment stamp set, Itty Bitty greetings. Have a great day!

Happy Birthday, Jen

Yesterday was Jenny's birthday.  We had a nice celebration with her.  I remember the day we brought her home and she was just the perfect baby~~until she decided it would be nice to sleep all day and stay up all night!  Jen's card is in a favorite color, Coastal Cabana.  The images are from Clearly Besotted and the sentiment from Stampin' Up's Cottage Greetings

We have had some beautiful bird sightings this weekend.  The Orioles are back, saw the first hummingbird of the season and the best ever~~an Indigo Blue Bunting.  The photo is not that great but I was taking the picture thru my office window and the slats of the blinds.  The males are so beautiful!  Have a great day!

Cute Little Watermelon

I have been playing in my scrap room quite a bit lately.  Today's card is one of the cute cards I made using WPlus9's Sunshine Layers rainbow die.  The die did create a cute watermelon!  The sentiment is from Sunny Studio Stamps.  The one thing that is not showing up is that the Melon Mambo cardstock layer is scored every 1/2 inch to add texture.  I do think there are a couple too many seeds on the watermelon!  Have a great weekend and find yourself a little stampin' time!

Moon Baby

Today's card was created by my friend, Kathy Z.  The stamp set she used is Stampin' Up's Moon Baby set which is so cute and yet is being retired!
The colors of the A Little Foxy DSP stack are very pretty together but I would have never thought of using the pattern paper for a baby's card.  I was not thinking correctly!  The Labels and Tags framelits are not used very often by me.  After seeing the nice addition they have made on Kathy's card, I have to make a mental note to reach for the Labels and Tags framelits more.  Kathy still has to fill in the top of the umbrella, but even with the white umbrella the card is adorable.  Have a great day and keep dry!

Cute Pink Parrot

I was coloring some cute little images just to color.  When I was putting things away, I decided I wanted a colorful card.  This little parrot was colored with Spectrum Noir pink markers.  I used Pretty In Pink retired cardstock for the background layer and the "YOU".  Die cut palm fronds from SU's Blooming Botanical framelits create a fun pop of color.  Both the parrot and the sentiment are from Clearly Besotted's Some Birdie Loves You stamp set.  Bright and pretty colors always bring a smile to my face.  But then, maybe it is the parrot!  Have a great day and enjoy the beautiful weather!
