Another Parrot

I am finishing up the week with another bird card.  This time I used the parrot from Catherine Pooler's Toucan Do It stamp set. After coloring the parrot, I didn't have the perfect green.  But I came across a color I haven't used in ages, Brilliant Blue.  After inking the edges with Brilliant Blue ink, I used an Avery Elle Wonky Stitched Rectangle die for the background.  The Linen Thread led to a layer of Crumb Cake cardstock before being added to a white card base.  Have a great weekend and find yourself a little stampin' time!

Proud As A Peacock

With graduation happening, I thought this could be a cute graduation card.  The peacock image is from Lawn Fawn's Peacock Before N Afters.  It was meant to create Magic Changing Picture cards using a set of specific dies.  I have no intention of making picture changing cards, but the peacock and sayings are cute.  The little peacock was colored with alcohol markers and cut on the Scan N Cut.  The banner for the saying is from a retired die set.  This is quick and easy and if I use it for a graduation card, I will add a graduation cap somewhere.  Have a great day!

A Parrot & A Cockatiel

Over the weekend and between the raindrops, Sydney decided to play with chalk on the driveway.  She drew the pretty pink parrot.

While it was raining, I decided to play with a Catherine Pooler stamp set, Toucan Do It.  I stamped and colored the cockatiel, flowers and foliage with alcohol markers.  I placed the cockatiel inside a square die cut made by using My Favorite Things die, Square Peekaboo Window.   The background paper is retired from Close To My Heart.  Once again, my Scan N Cut did a great job cutting the images.  Have a great day!        .

Nugget Favors

The parents of our German boy, Niklas, will arrive tomorrow.  We are so looking forward to seeing them again.  Niklas' dad, Dennis, was our exchange student more than 25years ago.  A couple of years later, he brought his then girlfriend, Maren, to stay with us.  After that, Maren and Dennis got married. While they are here, they will be celebrating their 20th anniversary.  I made these favors for their celebration,  I used the Whole Lot of Lovely Paper and the nugget dies from My Favorite Thing Stamps.  Have a great holiday weekend as we take time to remember those who died while serving our country.

New Stampin' Up Catalog Arrived!

Today I received a package from my demonstrator, Kimberly.  She sent me the catalog, a survival kit with pen, wish list, post-it note, tea, candy and more.  And she also sent samples of things she created using new products.  After 10 years of being a demonstrator for Stampin' Up and knowing the work that goes into making sure your customers were treated with little goodies at the new cattie release, it was very nice to be on the receiving end!  I must say that Kimberly went all out.  I am enclosing a picture of a few of the items Kimberly created with new SU Products.  The candy includes nuggets covered with new In-color paper.  The top tag was made with a new stamp set, Sailing Home.  The tag on the bottom was made using the Over The Moon stamp set.  What I need is the Delightful Tag Topper punch Kimberly used to make the tag itself.  That punch and the Sailing Away set I will be ordering as soon as the new catalog goes live.  Of course, there are other things, too!

Kimberly also has quite a few videos showing how to use the Brother Scan N Cut with Stampin' Up products.  Her blog page is www.thepaperedchef.com.  Her Stampin' Up site is at www.paperedchef.stampinup.net.  Have a great day!

So Pretty

When I saw a card on Pinterest, I knew I would remake it.  The pattern papers are from Stampin'  Up and both are retired.  The black pattern paper is Whole Lot of Lovely and the Tango Tangerine paper is from one of the retired 12 x 12 stacks.  The ribbon is from way back.  The only current SU product on today's card are the die cuts!  They were cut using the Layering Circle Framelits.  I liked the black pattern paper when it first was released and I still do like it!  Have a great day and find yourself a little stampin' time!

Pretty Bird

I don't usually post twice in one day, but I had to share a bright spot on such a dreary morning.  This is an Indigo Blue Bunting juvenile!  Isn't he so pretty?  Now I wonder where the mom and/or dad are hiding! Have a great day.

Fluttering Friends

Today's card was rather easy to make.  I watercolored Shimmery White cardstock using a Distress Ink pad and water.  After tapping the ink pad on an acrylic block, I added water, mixed the ink and water together and lightly pressed the cardstock on to the acrylic block.  In a couple of places the ink was very dark and I did not want that.  So, I took a piece of paper towel and dabbed it off.  When using the water and ink on Shimmery White, you don't want too much as it will cause the Shimmery White cardstock to buckle.  I used my heat gun to dry the cardstock and then splattered it with a purple ink.  After stamping the sentiment towards the bottom of the cardstock, I wrapped the ribbon around the Shimmer White, added it to a Gorgeous Grape piece of cardstock, adhered the butterfly with dimensionals and added some sequins.  Have a great day!

Cute Little Girl

Today's pretty card was created using My Favorite Things' stamp set, Bring Out The Sunshine.  The background layers of paper are from the Peach Blossom Paper Pack by Wild Rose Studio. The card base is Stampin' Up's Soft Sea Foam cardstock.  Copic markers were used to color the images which were cut out with my Scan N Cut.  Little pearls and a butterfly embellish the scallop oval.  Have a great weekend and find yourself a little stampin' time!

You're So Tweet

The nine year old girl across the street gave John a note to give to me.  He and her dad were outside talking.   John mentioned my knee problem and Maddie went home and wrote me a note.  I thought that was so kind and thoughtful of her that I made her today's card.  I used Clearly Besotted's Some Birdie Loves You stamp set and coordinating dies. I put the card in her mailbox after the mailman was here yesterday.  I have a feeling she will be thrilled to get mail addressed just to her and not her whole family. Have a great day!

Beachy Thank You

I was in need of thank you cards at the same time I received a stamp set by Art Impressions named Try Folds Beach stamp set.  The objective behind the Try-Folds is that you use three images on three panels of cardstock to create a folded scene..  One day I will try making a Try-fold, but for now I used one of the images.  I liked all the images in the stamp set which included a pretty saying.  Each image is very beachy and you will be seeing cards using the various elements.  After stamping the image, I colored it with alcohol markers.  I used Avery Elle's Wonky Stitched dies to cut the green and aqua layers.  My card was quite simple to create and could be used for a variety of occasions.  Have a great day!

Happy In The Rain

The cold and dreary weather we have been having lately was a little depressing.  So out came My Favorite Things' BB Rain or Shine stamp set and alcohol markers to create today's card.  This cute little happy girl walking in the rain with her little duckling brings a smile to my face and hopefully to many others, too.  The light green cardstock is Stampin' Up's Soft Sea Foam and the pink is a retired SU color.  The white and green cardstock layers were cut using Avery Elle's Wonky Stitches Elle-ments dies.  Hope everyone had a great weekend!  Enjoy the sunshine!

Birthday for Gardening Friend

A friend of mine is going to celebrate her birthday in a week or so.  I recently received Lawn Fawn's Spring Fling paper
and I knew i would use it to make my friend's card.  The images and sentiment are from My Favorite Things' Fluttering Friends stamp set and cut with coordinating dies. My friend loves gardening and the finished card is perfect for her!

On another note, the Orioles are back!  We have seen many orioles this past week~~many more than in the past.  There have been males, females and juveniles.  Time to keep my good camera in the kitchen so I can get better photos of these beautiful birds.  Have a great weekend and find yourself a little stampin' time!

Mother's Day

Over the weekend we celebrated Jen's birthday and Mother's Day.  Jen had a tropical theme going, so my cards and favors were a great match.  I used flamingos from both Sunny Studio's Fabulous Flamingos set and Clearly Besotted's Fluffy Flamingos.  I used Stampin' Up's Layering Ovals dies.  The pattern paper I purchased at Joanne's.

The favors are Hershey bars wrapped in that same pattern paper with a ribbon wrapped around them.  Quick, simple and pretty.  I had the grand idea of attaching flamingos to each, but I ran out of time.  Have a great day!

Little Sadie

Over the weekend Jen and Syd took a little road trip to pick up their new puppy, Sadie.  Since they were in Indiana, they stopped at Fair Oaks Farm for a bathroom break and to get some freshly made ice cream.  Jen is teaching Sadie how to road trip and tailgate!  She caught on rather quickly, too! If only she could have had some of their ice cream!

This is the card I made for the family. The image is from a Stephanie Bernard/Sizzix stamp set and the sentiment from a My Favorite Things stamp set.  Next time, the dog needs to be a little browner!  Have a great day!

It's Your Birthday!

Today is Jenny's birthday.  It seems like only yesterday I was celebrating my 44th and today my daughter is celebrating hers!  How can this be?  This card was created using Fabulous Flamingos from Sunny Studio Stamps.  The pattern paper is also from Sunny Studio.  All the images were colored with Spectrum Noir markers after the images were cut on the Scan N Cut.  As much as I really like my Scan N Cut, there have been times when I colored first and the image cut wrong.  Therefore, I cut first and color second.  Happy birthday, Jenny!  I love you.  Have a great day!

Mom & Ducklings

Isn't this a cute Mother's Day card?  Paula brought her Stampin' Up's Fable Friends set over and I stamped images so that I could make a card for Jen's mother-in-law. After stamping, I cut the images on the Scan N Cut and then colored them with Prisma colored pencils. The little ducklings were adhered to layered ovals.  The background paper is from Lawn Fawn.  When the card was all put together, it needed a little something extra.  Out came adhesive dots to match the mama duck's jacket.  Have a great day!

Puppy Pictures

Let me introduce you to my new little grandpuppy, Sadie. Jen and Sydney will pick her up on Saturday.  There is much excitement in the air while they anticipate bringing her home.  She is a miniature Aussie Doodle.  I will get to meet her on Sunday.  Can hardly wait!

Little Sandie has made herself at home!  We didn't let our own dogs on the sofas, but both are covered with sheets so the little girl can be on them.  I was looking for her the other day and I looked on the seats of the sofas and John says, "She is on the back of the sofa!"  She didn't knock over one picture
on the table behind the sofa!  She starts her heart worm treatment on Monday, so she is going to need comfy places to rest.  And John and I will be here to help her thru it. Have a great day!

Reel Great Guys

We are going to a party this weekend to celebrate the 70th birthday of one of John's fishing buddies.  I made this card specially for Rick as I can almost see the two of them out in a boat in Canada while hoping to catch the big one!  The stamp set, Reel Great Guys, is from Art Impressions.  Spectrum Noir markers were used to color the image.  The layer and numbers were cut from Marina Mist cardstock . Have a great day!
