Pool Party Layers
I rather like the look of white on white cards. So I decided to make a card using various embossing folders to create a Pool Party monochromatic card. The largest card stock layer was embossed using the Couture Creations' Tied Together folder. The two layers across the center of the card were embossed using Stampin' Up embossing folders with one layer being edged with the scallop edge punch. Originally, the white heart was Pool Party, but it was just too much Pool Party~~never thought I would think that! So I switched it out for a white layered heart. If you have a favorite color of card stock, try combining layers of the same color, but different embossing patterns. I do think that a little embellishment such as a pearl, rhinestone or tiny Pool Party flowers on one edge of the heart would be a pretty addition to an already pretty card. Have a great day!

Crush Rerun
Today's post is a rerun of a cute little project I posted last February which was a big hit. If you are a newcomer to my blog, last year I hunted high and low for bottles of Strawberry Crush and could not find a store in my area that carried that item. So I settled for cans of Strawberry Crush. I typed the "I have a on you" on white card stock and "CRUSH" on real red card stock. When typing the "I have a on you" I did play around a bit as far as spacing so as to leave enough room for the red heart. I typed "CRUSH" close enough to the edge of red card stock so that SU's Full Heart Punch would easily surround the word. Once again, I am on the hunt for bottles of Strawberry Crush and have already purchased cans just in case! Have a great day and find yourself a little stampin' time.

Sale-a-bration!
I have had success with uploading a photo to my blog~~YEAH! I am using Google Chrome which I just installed on my little net book Before downloading Chrome to any of my other computers, my net book is my tester and so far, so good.. Sale-a-bration starts today and nothing on this card is from the SAB brochure--hahahaha!!! On the other hand, you could purchase some of these products to get to that $50 amount to earn a free SAB item. The paper used is from the Print Poetry DSP paper stack (Spring Mini). Although there are a few patterns I do not care for in the stack, for $6.95 I can make quite a few cards from the patterns I do like. The sentiment is from Fabulous Phrases, a set that was a very worthwhile investment. The colors are a couple that I seldom use~~ Primrose Petals and Summer Starfruit, but the colors and the patterns work well. If you have any questions regarding SAB or the Spring Mini, give me a holler. Keep warm!

Best of Birthdays
First off, I am having problems getting photos on my blog. I certainly don't want to describe a card or project and not be able to post the photo of that project or card. So I am working on that. Last week I mentioned a few of the promotions that Stampin' Up has going but there weren't any flyers for me to share with you. I am now including a link to the flyer regarding the special stamp sets promotion. Now this promotion caught my interest. Each month SU will be releasing a special set of 3-5 stamps. One stamp in each set will be brand new while the other stamps in that set will be favorites from the past 25 years that Stampin' Up has been in business. The sets will cost $14.95 each and you save the little "proof of purchase" stickers to a collector card, which I will be sure you receive. When you have purchased six of these special sets, you redeem your collector card for a $14.95 stamp set of your choice. When you have a few minutes check out the flyer for this promotion:
http://www.stampinup.com/us/documents/DEMO_Best_of_Birthdays_25th_Year_flyer_NA.pdf
And I will work on trying to get a blog post with photos! Keep warm and find yourself a little stampin' time.

Pool Party & Pretty Birthday
I know I have written that I really like the ribbon that is part of the SAB brochure. Here the Pool Party ribbon is on a birthday card paired with a Pool Party button that is part of Sycamore Street SAB product choice. So pretty and I haven't played with the Rich Razzleberry or Tangerine Tango ribbons and buttons yet, nor have I seen the Sycamore Street DSP either. The little cupcake is from the retired Short & Sweet set while the sentiment is from Petite Pairs. And last but not least is the Wisteria Wonder that was embossed using the new Honeycomb embossing folder from the Spring Mini. Pool Party is an In Color that was introduced in 2011. That means that that group of In Colors will be replaced come June 1st. I love the color Pool Party. Don't be surprised if you see a lot of it over the course of the next few months as I need to get my fill before it becomes a retired color. I don't know how it can possibly be replaced. Oh well~~I'll cross that bridge when I get to it~~lol! Have a wonderful day.

New SU Stuff
I mentioned yesterday that SU is celebrating 25 years of stamping and have new product offerings. With this in mind, they are offering a number of promotions. The single stamps are something that I appreciate. Very often you like just one stamp in a set but have to purchase the entire set. And in the new releases there are a couple I will adding a few of the single stamps to my Sale-a-bration order. Now on to other new promotions:
And finally it is the Best of Birthday special. SU is taking some of the favorite stamping images from the past 25 years and combining them into 12 sets, one release each month during 2013. The cost for each set is $14.95 and when you purchase six, you get a free $14.95 stamp set of your choice. The images pictured here are in this month's set. OK, so I think I have mentioned everything SU is offering--WHEW! Have a great day!

SU is offering a new monthly kit subscription, called My Paper Pumpkin. I have seen photos of the kit. I have read about it and heard other demos reviews, but since I personally have not seen the kit, I do not have an opinion one way or the other. Please head over to www.mypaperpumpkin.com and check it out. The cost is $19.95 and each month you will receive a "surprise" crafting project. (I want the red box!) If you have questions, I will be more than happy to help you out.

More Single Stamps!
Stampin' Up is celebrating 25 years of creating this year. They have promised that this year will be special and it sure is starting out that way. You know I love the Valentine Bundles that are available until January 21st. There are a few things that have recently been announced which I will be posting about. But right now I am trying to get the flyers posted here on my blog regarding more single stamps--but to no avail., For now, if you click on the link, it should take you to the shop portion of the general SU website so you can at least see the 10 new never before seen single stamps: http://www.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ItemList.aspx?categoryid=1216. Click on Stamps and then Single Stamps.
If you have any questions or are going to place an order, give me a holler or go to m y Stampin Up website: www.stampintimesomewhere.stampinup.net.

Make A Wish
There have been a few inquiries as to how the "WISH" card on page 26 of the Spring Mini was created. I personally could never cut anything that evenly using scissors so I decided to see what I could do using MDS2+ and my electronic die cutter. I was
able to import the letters from the software onto my cutting mat. After a few tries (at least a few) the white cardstock is the negative space that was left once the letters were cut and removed. I ran that thru the Big Shot to emboss it, used an Edgelit for the decorative bottom edge and then used the coordinating embossing folder on the Raspberry Ripple. I have horrible handwriting and do not have a stamp that says "make a". So I typed the phrase into the MDS program, changed the color to Cherry Cobbler and when it was printed, cut it out using one of the Itty Bitty Framelits and adhered it to the card using a little brad. I like the finished product and now I have the letters to make another card. Have a great weekend and find yourself a little stampin' time!

Print Poetry DSP Stack
Today's card was inspired by one I saw on our demonstrator website. The print paper is just one of the designs in the new Print Poetry DSP Stack on Page 16 in the Spring Mini. This pad includes 4 each of 12 double-sided designs measuring 4 1/2 x 6 1/2 inches. This card uses the "stamping off" technique~~stamping first on a scrap of paper before stamping on the card. The stamped-off images include flowers from the Secret Garden set stamped using Midnight Muse ink and leaves from the same set stamped withWild Wasabi ink. The " above & beyond" image is from the One In A Million set and again stamped-off using Crumb Cake. I stamped directly on the cardstock using a sentiment from the Blooming With Kindness set and Midnight Muse ink. To finish off the card and add a little dimension, I stamped and cut out an extra flower adhering it with a dimensional and embellishing it with a little pearl. Many of the prints in this DSP stack are very pretty but there are a few that do not appeal to me. Nonetheless, the Print Poetry DSP stack is a great addition to my card-making supplies. Have a wonderful day!

New Stuff
I have been invited to a baby shower which takes place a couple of weeks from now. In yesterday's mail I received some things I had ordered right after Christmas and decided I would use those new things together with my Stampin' Up products to create a card. The diamond embossed Bashful Blue card stock was created using the Tied Together embossing folder by Couture Creations. The star border was cut using my Big Shot and the Cosmic Star border die by Memory Box. The word "Baby" was made using letter punches from My Digital Studio and
exporting them as SVG files. I turned on my Cricut, opened Sure Cuts A Lot, arranged the letters on my mat and hit "cut". I am so much loving the ability to use MDS2+ to cut out Stampin' Up images. Hope you are having a wonderful day!

MDS2+
I started playing with Stampin' Up's My Digital Studio software beginning with watching some of the videos on www.mydigitalstudio.net. After watching videos, I broke down and ordered the MDS 2+ software. You can download the software, but I wanted the disc together with digital content valued at $500. I spent the other day playing and the photo shows some of the images I cut out using my Cricut and Sure Cuts A Lot software. In the past, in order to get the layers for some of the punches, like the Decorative Label punch or the Top Note die, I had to punch or die cut the image, scan it into my computer, save it and then import it to my SCAL program. Well with MDS2+, once I pull up a punch or even a brush stamp image, I am able to "export to SVG" and save in a folder. The two trucks are images from a retired set, On The Go; onesies from a Celebrate Any Day set; small white tree is from the Spooky Bingo Bits; and I used "punches" for the border. There is going to be quite a bit of trial and error. For example, the hearts are from a retired stamp set, but were not solid as I thought. I ripped off one side of a heart outline. I have a lot to learn in order to take advantage of everything MDS2+ has to offer, but I will continue to watch the videos and learn more. In the meantime, I have been using MDS to create my Christmas scrapbook pages for this year. Eventually I will get them printed using SU's printing services and when I do that, I will post a couple of the finished products. Have a great day!

Such Pretty Ribbon!
There are quite a few fresh and exciting new items in the Spring Mini and this card includes the use of two of those items. The white butterfly in the upper right corner was punched using the new little butterfly punch which coordinates with the butterfly stamps in the Papillion Potpourri stamp set in the annual catalog. And then the flowers were all embossed using various colors of embossing powder including the new Pool Party. Come January 22nd and the start of Sale-a-bration you will be able to earn the beautiful ribbon and/or the Bloomin' Marvelous stamp set used here. The ribbon is gorgeous and not only do you get a 5 yard spool of Pool Party, but also Tangerine Tango and Island Indigo PLUS 36 pretty buttons in Pool Party, Tangerine Tango and Rich Razzleberry. Have a great day and weekend!

Not sure this will work, but the above link should take you to the flyer announcing the special effective thru January 21st. I posted a couple pictures yesterday of things I created using each of these sets. They are a great deal. Have a great day and find yourself a little stampin' time.

A Little Peak . . .
. . .at projects I created using items from Stampin' Up's limited time specials that will begin tomorrow and end January 21st.
- The Simply Sent kit is in the Holiday Mini on page 35 and I thought it was a nice little kit without the stamp set! By the way, today is the last day to order from the Holiday Mini. The stamped single heart on the red and white treat was punched using my Full heart punch and layered on a Scallop Heart of Hearts embosslit die cut. More details regarding the specials to follow. Have a great day!

Happy New Year!
Sydney asked for a ballet bar for Christmas which she did receive. In addition, she received a dance floor and mirror. When Jen posted this photo of our ballerina in her dance studio, I wanted to share it with you. This photo is filled with all the things I wish for you during the New Year: true happiness, the pure enjoyment of dreams coming true, the love of family and friends~~the best of everything. Have a beautiful 2013!
