More Tweet Friends

Spent time over the weekend making a variety of cards using MFT's Tweet Friends.  I learned that one of my friends broke her leg and ankle, so she will get the cute "feel better" card.  The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn's On The Mend stamp set. She enjoys music so a little singing bird will bring a smile to her face.  I used Wonky Stitched Rectangle dies for the layers.

Next I colored one of the bird images pink and then colored coordinating toadstools. The cute little bird is adhered to a white cardstock  circle which was cut using a MFT Mini Scallop Circle die.  The sentiment is from MFT's Fluttering Friends stamp set.  Both cards are adorable, but this birthday card would be perfect for a little girl.

If you go out tonight, be safe.  Enjoy the celebrations and Happy New Year!

Tweet Friends

A couple of times now I have attempted to put away all of the Christmas wrap, ribbon and craft items in my craft room~~not happening!  Instead I am playing.  One of the stamp sets John gave me for Christmas is a cute stamp set from MFT Stamps, Tweet Friends.  I stamped and embossed a number of images and then colored them with alcohol markers.  Now I have these cute images on my counter.  My choice yesterday was to make a card or put things away. As you can see, the card won! The sentiment is from MFT's set, Little Buddies.  You will be seeing more Tweet Friends cards in the future as it is such a cute set!  Have a great weekend and find yourself a little stampin' time!

Heart Box

You all know that I like little treat boxes and bags.  When Lawn Fawn released their new Heart Treat Box a couple of weeks ago, I had to add it to my collection.  I put it together (very easy) and then used additional dies (included in the set) to cut the candy cane patterned paper for the heart and sides.  The finished box measures 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" with a depth of just about 7/8".  This cute little box fits 4 Hershey Hugs/Kisses.   Have a great day!

So Pretty

We had a wonderful holiday weekend with our family and friends.  Niklas spent his first Christmas in the USA and it was  like we had two grandchildren this year.  He fits in well with our family.

Last month Sydney asked me to send a favorite picture of Nipper.  Needless to say, I have quite a few of my favorite granddaughter and favorite bird.  This is one I sent her.  I opened the Christmas present she made for me and it was her painting of the same photo.  She used acrylic paints on canvas.  It is an awesome present from an awesome granddaughter.  Have a great day!.

Wishing all a very Merry Christmas!  This beautiful card was made by my friend, Kathy Z.

Christmas Thank You

While I should finish wrapping presents,  I thought it would be more fun to make Christmas thank you cards.  The wreath card was created using a Spring wreath from RG Studio 360's Create A Wreath digital stamp set.  To make the wreath more Christmasy, I stamped a few poinsettia images from a Dare2BArtsy stamp set and adhered them to the wreath image.  The "thank you" is another RG Studio digital image and I used Dimensionals to adhere it.

The penguin card was to be heat embossed with white embossing powder but I goofed and used clear.  Since I can clearly see the sentiment, I decided to just keep it.  Both cards used retired Stampin' Up retired pattern paper, Melon Mambo ribbon and ink.  Both cards are very cute with the pink and black color combination.   I will wrap presents later today!   Have a great weekend!

Amazing Gift

Yesterday I received a very nice surprise from my friend, Cherie.  I took the top off of the box and the gift opened up to this oh so pretty winter scene inside a clear acetate box.  Inside the acetate enclosure are snow-covered evergreens with snow on the ground.  On the outside of the acetate panels are snowflakes, deer and a Merry Christmas. (My camera is not getting a clear enough photo thru the acetate.  I wish it would show how beautiful the scene is.) All four cardstock sides have 3-dimensional snowflakes.  I am not amazed that Cherie made this as she is a very talented person.  I am amazed that she would put so much time and love into this and then give it away~~to me!  Have a great day!

More Pizza Box Cuteness

I was going thru my scrapbook paper looking for paper to cover mini pizza boxes for favors for the Christmas Eve dinner table.  When I reached the candy cane paper, I knew it would be perfect for the penguin holding the candy cane from MFT's Sweet Holiday Penguins stamp set.  Real red cardstock was die cut using an MFT Wonky Stitched Circle die and heat embossed snowflakes were added.  Once the mini pizza boxes were covered with the candy cane paper, the penguin embellished red circles were adhered to the lid of the box.  I have really pretty twine, so I used that to wrap the boxes.  Another cute set of favors.  Have a great day!

From Nancy and Dawn

Today I am sharing two special cards I received.  When John brings the mail in, I greatly enjoy and appreciate each and every Christmas card we receive.  But when I see those A2 size envelopes, I can hardly wait to open them.  And I am never disappointed. My friend, Nancy, created the pretty snowflake card.  And my friend, Dawn, created the really cute mitten card.  I love them both (Dawn and Nancy and their cards) and I know their cards were "handmade with love".  Have a great day!

All My Cards

Aside from the cards for my children and a few other special people, I made a variety of cute cards this Christmas for friends and family.  Two stamp sets from My Favorite Things got good workouts as did my alcohol markers.  The images from MFT's Tweet Holidays were all cut on the Scan N Cut. The penguins from MFT's Sweet Holiday Penguins set were die cut.  For some reason, my Scan n Cut just wouldn't cut the penguins.  So, I ordered the coordinating dies.  And between cards, gift tags and boxes, it was well worth it to purchase the dies.  I had an especially great time making all of the cards this year.  I always enjoy card-making but the little birds and penguins always made me smile.  They are just sooo cute.  Have a great day!

Christmas Chapel

Today's cards were created using Sunny Studio Stamps' Christmas Chapel stamp set.  For the background on the card on the left I sponged Distress inks masking a circle for a moon.  I then stamped a tree line using an image from Stampin' Up's Lovely As A Tree stamp set. The Early Espresso layer was embossed with a Creative Couture embossing folder.

The card on the right began with a Close To Cocoa card base.  A die was used to create the oval in the Shimmery White cardstock layer. The inside of that oval was lined with an embossed piece of Close To Cocoa cardstock and gold thread and the church were adhered using dimensional.  Have a great weekend and find yourself a little stampin' time!

Puppy Love

I had extra puppy images cut out, so I colored them with alcohol markers and quickly made this card.  Both patterns of paper are in My Favorite Things paper pack, Party Plaid. The smaller dog is from their New Best Friend stamp set while the bigger puppy is from Avery Elle's Furry Friends set.  The card base and layer are MFT's Razzle Berry cardstock.  This could be a Valentine.  Have a great day!

Christmas Chickens

For the kids, I like to make cards that they can relate to and enjoy.  Since Matt is raising chickens, I saw the Dairy Christmas stamp set from  Art Impressions and couldn't resist.  The image was colored with colored pencils and layered on red and white cardstock and striped pattern paper.   The inside of Matt's card is even cuter! Have a great day!

Another Cute One!

Now that I started playing with the mini pizza boxes, I keep making "just one more"!  Today's mini pizza box is decorated with almost everything My Favorite Things:  Tweet Holidays stamp; Petite Plaid Paper Pack; Stitched Mini Scallop Circle dies; and Berrylicious cardstock.  I haven't filled this one yet but it sure will look pretty under the tree or in someone's Christmas stocking!  Have a great day and find yourself a little stampin' time!

Pizza Box Gifts

The mini pizza boxes from Stampin' Up are perfect for little gifts.  And over the weekend I worked on just that~~little gifts. The pizza boxes were covered with retired Stampin' Up paper.  I used SU's Layering Square Framelits to create the layers for  penguins and birds from My Favorite Things stamp sets that decorate the cover of the box.  After filling the inside of the box with Dove Chocolate Presents, the top was closed and pretty ribbon wrapped around it.  A few metallic stars add a little sparkle.  Have a great day!

Happy Christmas

I mailed out Christmas cards this week and since people are receiving them, I can now post what I have been working on.  Today I am posting Syd's and Niklas' cards.  For Niklas' card, I used MFT Stamps' Happy Pawlidays.  After coloring the images with alcohol markers, I embellished the card with sequins.  For Sydney's card I used images from both Tweet Holidays and Sweet Holiday Penguins stamp sets.  I embellished her card with rhinestones and silver thread.  Both Sydney and Niklas thought their cards were cute~~as did I.  Have a great weekend and find yourself a little stampin' time.

Country Home

Stampin' Up's Country Home stamp set caught my attention right away.  The set includes pretty images, nice sayings and the small label image with little words is the perfect addition for the rustic pitcher and vase.  After coloring the images using alcohol markers, I used cardstock layers to draw attention to the image.  The large purple layer was embossed using a Close To My Heart embossing folder and little adhesive dots embellish the completed card.  Have a great day!

Joy

Last week Richard Garay did a live video in which he made a pretty Christmas card.  Black isn't a usual Christmas color, but it works with the pattern paper.   The layout of his card is what I used for today's card.  The stamped wreath is from the retired Stampin' Up set Wondrous Wreath.  The word "Joy" is from the coordinating framelits.  Old Olive was the color of choice for both the wreath and card base.  The stitched satin ribbon is one of my favorite ribbons from SU.  I have it in every color in which it was available.  It makes very pretty bows~~until they are smashed into envelopes!  Have a great day!

For Ayden

Today's card is for Mark and Jen's 18-month old nephew, Ayden.  The cute puppy and little tree are both from MFT Stamps' Happy  Pawlidays.  After stamping and heat embossing, I colored the images with alcohol markers.  SU's Little Letters dies were used for Ayden's name.  The little dog is so cute!  Have a great day!

Lovely As A Tree

Paula was here over the weekend for a crafting afternoon.  She made this card and brought the supplies for me if I wanted to make one.  Paula used Crumb Cake to stamp the green checked pattern.  She then used a ruler and red marker to add the red lines and create a plaid look.  The tree is from Stampin' Up's Lovely As A Tree stamp set.   Paula's card is so pretty that I decided to make a card using the background stamp.  But, I used white instead of Crumb Cake for the background. My card turned out  okay.  The Crumb Cake is perfect for this card. It gives it a vintage look, especially since the tree is stamped on Vanilla rather than white.  Pretty card, Paula!  Hope everyone has a great day!
