Getting Better~~I Hope!

It has been a while since I posted and things are looking up.  I started  physical therapy this week going 2-3 times a week. If that doesn't work, then an MRI.  I can go up and down the stairs so long as I do one step at a time.  That is progress.  It could all be caused by arthritis or it is a meniscus tear.  Time will tell.  What I do know is that after two therapy sessions my knee hurts more than it did before the therapy!

Today's card was created by my friend, Dawn.  When I opened the envelope, I truly did laugh.  The inside said, "On the bright side, you don't need a cone"! The image is from Art Impressions' Funny Farm set, Doggy Kisses.  I liked it so much, that I ordered the stamp set.  I also like the layout of her card.  I am copying that for sure, too.  In other words I am remaking her card! Have a great weekend and find yourself a little stampin' time!

Happy St. Patrick's~~Late

Hope everyone had a fun weekend and celebrating St. Patrick's Day.  Today's card was created using clip art.  I found this image on the Internet, printed it on Whisper White cardstock and used layers of green cardstock on the white card base.  No stamps, markers or colored pencils used.  This is a cute card for "cheating"!

I will not be posting for a few days due to a knee problem.  Not sure what caused the problem.  I cannot put any weight on my left leg because of the pain.  The ER gave me my first ever walker!! (Now I know I am old!) Going down and up the stairs just can't be done.  I have gotten Cortisone shots to get rid of the inflammation with the hope that the fluid gets absorbed.   If that doesn't work, then an MRI.  Always something!  I went thru a major surgery without any problem or pain and now I am using pain killers for my knee!  I will be back as soon as I can go down to my craft room safely.  Have a great few days.

Umbrella Weather

The recent rainy days were my inspiration for today's card.  The cute little duck image is from the Showers and Flowers stamp set by Simon Says Stamp.  The little duck was stamped and then cut on my Scan N Cut.  He was colored with alcohol markers.  The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted's Scrumptious Script stamp set.  Both the white and yellow cardstock layers were cut with Avery Elle's Wonky Stitched dies.  Once the card was put together, the retired little enamel dots from Stampin' Up were added.  Have a great weekend and a happy St. Patrick's day!

My Serene Garden Card

I used my Scan N Cut to cut out the Serene Garden images I stamped over the weekend and then made a quick card.  I had stamped and embossed the image in the lower left corner on a white piece of cardstock that measures 4" x 5 1/4".  I colored that and the other images with alcohol markers.  Before adding the butterfly, larger flower and sequins, I stamped the sentiment.  I adhered that white layer to a Grapefruit Grove layer as it matched the orange on the card quite nicely.  Now that I am looking at the card, I will be using my white gel pen to cover up a few little "out of the line" marks.  As always, that scallop corner punch makes a pretty card even prettier!  Have a great day!

Springtime Thank You

The little bunnies and chicks are too cute!  This is a stamp set from Your Next Stamp, A Cute Stack.  I stamped and embossed the image directly on the white cardstock.  I should have stamped the image closer to the left side. After coloring the image, I barely had enough room for the sentiment.  Actually, what I should have done was just trim the cardstock a little more.  Nonetheless, the card is cute and will be a perfect thank you card this Spring season.  Have a great day and find yourself a little Stampin' time!

Serene Garden

Yesterday, Paula and Jenny came for a visit.  Paula made today's pretty card and brought the stamp set and framelits for us to use.  The Serene Garden stamp set and the coordinating dies, Garden Scene, are in Stampin' Up's Annual Catalog.  I totally looked passed this stamp set in the catalog and after seeing the card Paula sent me, I took a second look at it.  I also went on Pinterest to see what cards were created using Serene Garden.  There are so many pretty samples on the internet that you will be seeing more creations with this stamp set.  (I stamped a few of each image while Paula was here that I can use in the future!) Actually, Paula will let me use her stamp set whenever I ask.    Her cards were a reminder of the pretty stamp sets that are in Stampin' Up's Annual and Occasions catalogs.  Have a great day!

Hoppy Friends

I am ending the week with a cute Easter card.  I used the images from the My Favorite Things stamp set, Hoppy Friends.  The images were cut on my Scan N Cut and colored with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.  The Easter eggs were cut from miscellaneous scraps of cardstock and paper.  I then used a white gel paint to make stripes and dots on a couple of the eggs.    Both layers of Bashful Blue pattern paper were cut with the Avery Elle Wonky Stitches dies.  I even cut the grass with one of the Wonky Stitches dies so it matched the rest of the edges.  The sentiment is from Stampin' Up's retired Teeny Tiny Wishes and cut out with one of their retired Itty Bitty Framelits.  Have a great weekend and find yourself a little stampin' time!

Pretty Poppies

Today's card was copied directly from My Favorite Things' website.  I wanted to use their Painted Poppies stamp set but my mind went blank.  So I went to their website and found their pretty version of a card using Painted Poppies.  I cut the images using my Scan N Cut and colored the images with Spectrum Noir markers.  The sentiment is from the Pretty Pink Posh set Thoughtful Greetings.  Copying a card is so easy!  Have a great day!

Two More

Today's cards were also created by others.  The card on the left is from my daughter.  Love the background print and the little birds are adorable.  The card on the right is from my friend, Cherie.  She used a stamp set by My Favorite Things and created a medicine cabinet using dies and vellum.  It even  has a little door knob.

As I said yesterday, I am truly blessed to have such thoughtful and caring family and friends.  I received many gifts, phone calls and emails.  I appreciate all of them.  John especially appreciated  Kathy W's meals.  He said that not only were they delicious, but she saved him from cooking or getting carry out!  Again, thank you to all.  Have a great day!

Cards Received

Two weeks ago I had my surgery and I am doing really well.  Since then I have received many get well wishes.  All are very much appreciated.  Today's post are two of those cards:  The pretty card on the left is from my friend, Nancy.  The pretty card on the right is from my friend, Paula.  They both know me well and know that Stampin' Up's Soft Sky  and Pool Party are two of my favorite colors. Both cards were created using Stampin' Up supplies.  Thank you both very much.  I look at the cards on the counter and they remind me  how blessed I am to have dear friends and family.  Have a great day!

Just A Note

Today's card was also created using images from Clearly Besotted's Countryside Cuties stamp set.  The checked paper is from Stampin' Up's Gingham Gala 6x6 Paper Pack.  I used the Grapefruit Grove gingham paper and Grapefruit Grove cardstock as a layer.  The color makes for a very cheerful Spring card and we need Spring to get here soon!  Have a great day and stay warm!

Garden Bench

I know Spring is just around the corner and maybe if I make a few more Spring-like cards, it really will be here!  Today's card was created using the Countryside Cuties stamp set by Your Next Stamp.  The images were colored with alcohol markers.  For the blue area behind the bench I used distress ink and a sponge.  The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted's Scrumptious Script stamp set.  And the item that was the perfect and pretty finishing touch is the Old Olive Linen Thread from Stampin' Up! It is an item in the Occasions Catalog and I am going to stock up on it.  It is the same touch and feel as the Linen Thread that has been in the Stampin' Up Annual Catalog ever since I can remember.  Have a great weekend!
