Tea-riffic Birthday

Today's card was created with my newest stamp set, Tea-riffic Stamps from Sunny Studio Stamps.  I stamped the teapot and cup with Versafine Gray ink and embossed with the usual clear powder.  By using gray, the outline is not as sharp as when using black ink.  After coloring with alcohol markers, I decided the pot needed some flowers.  I used the flower image from Sunny Studio's Chickie Baby stamp set for all of the flowers on the card.  There are a few things I would have done differently, but I will be able to create some pretty tea-riffic cards using this set in the future!  Have a great day!

Welcome To The World

One of my nephews in Arizona and his wife had a little baby boy one month ago today.  The baby's name is Jackson Lawrence and he is adorable.  I made this card for Jackson using the My Favorite Things stamp set, Up In The Air.  The sentiment is from a retired Stampin' Up set.  I used a retired punch, also from Stampin' Up after stamping the sentiment.  Before adding the images, I used the cloud stencil to create the soft clouds.  Have a great day!

Dragon Friends

I am ending the week with two dragon cards.  The image of the dragon up in the air is from MFT's Magical Dragons, as is the sentiment.  The bunch of balloons tied to his tail is an image from Sunny Studio Stamps.  For the clouds in the background I used MFT'S Cloud stencil.

The image of the little girl with her dragon, together with the sentiment, are from MFT's Magical Friends stamp set.  I die cut the circle in the polka dot paper and stamped circles to match the Copic colors I used to color the image before adhering the image.  These dragon stamp sets are adorable.  Great cards for the organizations to which I send cards.

Have a great weekend social distancing!

Thinking of You Dragon

Today's dragon image is the same image used in yesterday's card from the My Favorite Things stamp set, Magical Friends.  For the first layer I sponged distress ink starting from the lower right corner working my way up to the upper left using less ink as I went along.  The word bubble is included in the set.  I am not sure which set includes the sentiment.  On the Bermuda Bay layer, I used the score board to create an embossed frame around the top layers of the card.  Have a great day!

Catch A Bird

Friday morning I found a note on my front porch.  It was from one of the girls across the street.  She wanted another dog and her Dad told her if she could catch a bird, she could have a dog.  She also asked her Dad if she could ask if John and/or I had any ideas on how to catch a bird.  But she couldn't buy anything in order to catch a bird.  So, John gave her a critter cage and bird seed.  That afternoon she and her siblings were running after birds trying to catch them with buckets.

On Saturday John checked on the cage and it needed to be reset.  Saturday night, I could hear the kids talking and so excited on my front porch.  I opened the door and all three were talking at the same time because they can get a new dog!!  They got a photo of the bird in the cage, showed it to their parents and the little boy let the bird out of the cage.   They were coming to return the cage and thank John!!  I am sure that right about now the parents would like to catch John, put him in a critter cage and leave him in it!!  Actually, the parents felt that Maddie was really smart to come to our house for help.  And as her Dad said, "She outsmarted me!"

This week is going to be dragon cards week. The cards are being made for Cards For Soldiers. The stamp set used was My Favorite Things' Magical Friends.  I purchased this set when not only was it a Blitz Day sale, it was also a 25% off sale.  With that kind of savings, I also purchased the dies.  These dragons are cute and fun to color.  I used MFT's Lavender Fields cardstock and then matched Copic markers with it.  Isn't this perfect for a Mom or Dad to send to their child?  Have a great day!

A Mom Card

Waking up to 3" of snow in mid April makes me smile and shake my head my head at the same time!  At least the snow is only sticking on the lawn~~no shoveling needed.

With the Corona Virus "isolation" it seems like all the days are just rolling into one.  Over the weekend I thought it would be nice to make some cards for Moms.  I did not finish my cards in time for Mother's Day for the Cards For Soldiers organization, but Mom cards can be used for birthdays or any day.  This card was very easy to create.  I used paisley paper for the background which coordinated with Stampin' Up's retired Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock.  The letters were die cut using SU's Large Letters framelits.  The little hearts inside the letter "O" add a little love to the design.  Have a great weekend and be careful outside today!

No Cone

My son-in-law had surgery last week and since everything went well, I made him today's card.  The stamp set, Doggy Kisses from Art Impressions, is very cute.  Once again, I used Sandy Allnock's technique to create the wood sign.  Mark said that the card did make him laugh and feel better in spite of a little pain.  Have a great day everyone!

Hello Spring

It was so cold and windy yesterday that I thought it would be good to show a pretty "Hello Spring" card.  This card was made by my friend, Paula.  The image is from Stampin' Up's Fable Friends stamp set.  And of course the fact that the card base is one of my two favorite Stampin' Up colors (Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay) makes it perfect!  Thank you, Paula.  Have a great day!

Pretty Easter

I hope everyone had a nice Easter and found a bit of joy.  I did for sure.  It was different from any Easter I can remember, but it was a good day.  .  Matt did come over to visit us in the driveway for a few minutes.

I did want to share one more Easter card.  I received this from my friend, Nancy.  She used an image from Stampin' Up's Easter Promise stamp set which is in the current Occasions Catalog.  Everything about her card is pretty!  Thank you, Nancy!  Have a great day everyone!

He Is Risen!

In spite of that fact that we will not be spending Easter with our family, I am still rejoicing and hope you are, too.  I made this card for a special lady in my life and she sent me a picture of how she has displayed it outside of her apartment door.  She truly touched my heart.  Happy Easter to all!

Happy Easter

These are more Easter cards I sent out this year.  Most of you know that the yellow checked card is for Matt.  I saw the wreath with the chicken image SVG, printed it and added Easter eggs and little chicks.  Perfect for him!

The card with the chicks and basket was created using Sunny Studio Stamps' Chickie Baby stamp set and the little peep is from an older Simon Says Stamp set, My Kind of Peep. The sun is from Avery Elle.  The blue card includes the basket and sentiment from Lawn Fawn's Eggstra Special Easter set.

Easter will certainly be different this year.  We will not be spending the day with our family and Mark's which we have been doing for the last 12 years.  But we are all doing what needs to be done--keeping our distance.  I wish you all a very Happy Easter.  Rejoice in all of the good things that are happening around us and say a little prayer for all those who continue to work to keep us safe and supplied with necessities and more~~nurses, doctors, janitors, postal workers, truck drivers, cashiers, farmers and so many others.   Have a great weekend!

Easter Dragon

I try to personalize cards when it comes to cards for people I know and I did so with this Easter card for Jen and Mark.  The images on the card are from a few different stamp sets including Lawn Fawn and Sunny Studio Stamps.  The pink polka dot paper was cut using the Storybook die from Pretty Pink Posh.  The dragon is from My Favorite Things.  I thought Mark would get a kick out of a dragon egg instead of a chickie egg!  Have a great day and stay healthy!

Eggs & Chickies

I have been doing quite a bit of coloring images for my Easter cards.  It makes for a peaceful afternoon.  The images on today's card are from Sunny Studio Stamps' Chickie Baby set.  I stamped, embosssed and colored the images before cutting them out on my Scan N Cut.  After arranging the images, I then stamped the sentiment.  WPlus9's  Sunshine Wishes die was used to create the white scallop layer.  The cute little chickies were adhered with Dimensonals.   The cuteness and bright colors makes me smile!  Have a great day!

Easter Candy

Today's card is very cute!  The chocolate bunny and jelly bean images are from Lawn Fawn's Eggstra Special stamp set.  The pattern paper is from Doodle Bugs.  The cardstock circles were cut with Stampin' Up circle dies.  The eggs and sentiment are from other stamp sets.  My favorite part of the card, besides the color combination, is the bow!  So perfect and almost perfectly matches MFT's Razzle Berry cardstock.  Have a great weekend sticking around the house while social distancing!

No Otter Like You

I am in the middle of making Easter cards and thought it would be nice to switch to making otter cards.  I used My Favorite Things' Otterly Love You stamp set.  The backgrounds for the images were sponged.  For the card on the left, the stamped layer was adhered to underwater pattern paper.  For the card on the right, I used a larger white cardstock layer, sponged and then adhered that to a piece of  Brilliant Blue cardstock.  These little otters are adorable and are perfect for any occasion.  Have a great day!
