Tropical Birthday

Since we will be having tropical weather this weekend, I decided to post a pretty tropical card!  The tropical foliage is from Close To My Hearts' Nature Walk.  I inked the leaves in Soft Sky and Green Galore (stamped off once).  The flamingo is from Sunny Studio's Tropical Paradise  set and the sentiment is from another Close To My Heart set, Joyful Birthday.  Stay cool this weekend and find yourself a little stampin' time!

Mint Ice Cream

I came across some retired Mint Macaron Designer Series Paper and I thought, "Mint chocolate chip ice cream!" when I saw Avery Elle's Sweetest stamp set on the island. After coloring the ice cream cone, I did think about adding little chocolate chips, but then decided to leave well enough alone!  Instead, I added glaze on the chocolate topping!  Have a great day!

Sending Hugs

Once again I am using the Simply Said Hugs dies from Avery Elle.  The image of the little boy hugging his puppy is from MFT Stamps' Little Buddies.  After coloring and then cutting the little boy on the Scan N Cut, I then switched cardstock and increased size of image so that he, too, would have a Brilliant Blue layer.  The pattern paper is a scrap I found that worked perfectly with this card.  (And now that I am looking at the card, I see where his hair needs a little fixing up!)    Have a great day!

Puppy Hugs

The layout for today's card is copied right off of a card on Pinterest.  The cute little dog is from Avery Elle's Furry Friends stamp set, a set I have had for a while.  The "hugs" are from Avery Elle's Simply Said Hugs dies.  After sponging ink (Regal Rose and Crisp Cantaloupe) on the white layer of the card, I then added the "hugs".  The little puppy was adhered with dimensionals overlapping the "h" a bit,  Since a few of us are planning on going to the Scrapbook Expo in August I thought it would be a good idea for me to use things I bought last year!   So, I used Epoxy Dots from Queen & Co. to embellish the card.  Have a great day and stay dry!

Sweetest Birthday

I have a couple of new stamp sets to play with and since John was in Phoenix all week, I did play.  Today's card was created using Avery Elle's Sweetest stamp set.  The ice cream treats were colored with Spectrum Noir markers and cut on the Scan N Cut.  The chocolate on the one ice cream cone was covered with glaze.  I still have to get that glaze down better.  I either put too much or not enough!  I used one of Lawn Fawn's Stitched Border dies to add a border on either side of the treats.  The sentiment stamps are also in the Sweetest set.  Little cardstock stars embellish the white space.  Have a great day!

Otterly Happy Birthday

Another cute card created with a cute set.  This is another by MFT Stamps, Otterly Love You.  For the background, which is the card base, I lightly drew a circle with a pencil on the card base.  (The pencil marks show where the circle will be on the top layer of the card.)  I then sponged distress inks a little beyond the pencil marks to look like sand and water.  As usual, I heat embossed the images, colored them with alcohol markers and cut them with the Scan N Cut.  After erasing the pencil marks and stamping the sentiment, I adhered the top layer using dimensionals.  A few pretty sequins complete the card.  Have a great weekend and find yourself a little stampin' time!

Fluffy Flamingos

From what we hear, Sydney is enjoying camp~~ even with the rain  She loves being with the animals, has made new friends and has met up with friends from previous years.  It has hard to believe that she has been going to this camp since she was 9 years old.  Looking back at photos, she was so young back then.

Today's card is another I made for her.  And, it is another tropical stamp set I have in my collection.  This is the Fluffy Flamingos set by Clearly Besotted.  The little birds were colored with alcohol markers and cut on the Scan N Cut.  The sentiment is from the  MFT Stamps Tickled Pink stamp set.  Another fun card for Sydney Elizabeth!  Have a great day and keep dry!!!!

Tropical Celebration

I saw a very cute tropical stamp set on WPlus9 Stamps.  The set included two cute flamingos.  I added it to my cart but then decided before I purchase another tropical set, I was going to see what I already owned.  I came across a few sets and the tropical sets I have, made it very unnecessary to add to my collection!  So my cart was emptied!

I then went on to create today's card using a couple of those stamp sets.  This card was created using Sunny Studio Stamps' Tropical Paradise and Fresh and Fruity stamp sets.   I stamped and heat embossed the images and used alcohol markers to color them.  And, since I purchased these sets prior to the Scan N Cut, I had coordinating dies to cut everything out.  The sentiment is from Penny Black's Heartfelt stamp set.  Have a great day!

Science Camp Time

Syd is off to camp this week.  Between Jen, Grandmum and me, Sydney gets a lot of mail.  Since they have mail call every day, we each do a few days.  That way she only gets one  piece of mail each day or maybe two pieces of mail occasionally.

Today's card I made using one of her favorite stamp sets, Unforgettable by WPlus9 Stamps.  It is just a playful card to bring a smile to her face.  I printed the sentiment on the computer, spacing it so that images would fit.  I sure hope it has cooled off for the campers who are down in Rolla, Missouri.  It was hot and humid up here and Jen said it was awful down there over the weekend.  Good for us though, it has cooled off!  Have a great day!

Dad Day Cards

These are the cards I made for John and Matt.  For John's card I used RG Studio 360's Boho Classic digital stamp set.  I used Stampin' Up's Gorgeous Grunge stamp set for the background.  Matthew's card is to him from his dogs.  The stamp set is New Best Friend from MFT Stamps.  After stamping and embossing the little dog image three times, I colored the images to match his dogs. Both cards were appreciated from two card-worthy men!

And as a little something from Matt's chickens, I personalized a plastic egg container that fits 24 eggs using my Scan N Cut and Vinyl.  In a couple of months he will be needing egg storage!   Have a great day and keep cool!

Native Boho

Wednesday evening was Richard Garay's virtual card club class.  The club class kit includes supplies needed to complete  four cards along with the digital stamp set.  (Adhesives are not included.)  This month's digital stamp set from RG Studio 360 is the Native Boho set.  I am posting two of the four cards I made, embellished with a few of Nipper's feathers (saved over the years).  Next week I will post the two cards I created using Richard's color scheme. They, too, are pretty.  Have a great weekend and keep cool and hydrated!

Dad Dragon

With Father's Day being just a couple days away, I wanted to post Nancy's card for Father's Day.  She made this card using My Favorite Things Magical Dragons stamp set.  It is for her son-in-law.  What is so cute is that she made a pink dragon for their girl and blue dragons for their two boys.  Stampin' Up's Brick Wall embossing folder is a great background for the dragons.  Thanks for sharing, Nancy!  Have a great day!

Cheers

Today's card is one that is cute and simple.  After coloring the little drink and flower, I pulled out the dies that I purchased when I bought the set.  And that is when I remembered that this set of dies from My Favorite Things was not the open frame style that almost everyone sells now, including MFT.  The dies are solid so you can't see the image when cutting.  I always had trouble lining up the dies with the stamped image prior to MFT switching over to open dies.  Rather than hope I line up the dies and images for this card correctly, I used the Scan N Cut. The stamp set and dies are MFT's Penguins In Paradise.  The word "cheers" was stamped in Versamark ink and heat embossed using white embossing powder. The set is adorable and I should use it more.   Now I am wondering if I should add some sequins?   Have a great day and find yourself a little stampin' time!

Happy Birthday, Ayden

This past Sunday we celebrated the first birthday of Jen and Mark's nephew, Ayden.   His card was created using My Favorite Things stamp set, Magical Dragons and Stampin' Up's Number of Years stamp set and coordinating dies.  After stamping the dragon, I colored him with alcohol markers and cut him out on the Scan N Cut.  The stitched circle was made using a Stampin' Up Stitched Shape Framelit.  Have a great day!

Beautiful Ballerina

On Saturday we went to Sydney's dance recital.  Once again, I am just so proud of Sydney.  Each year she improves as a dancer and in her self-confidence.  The ballet dance was beautiful and not only that, Sydney was up front and center stage.  I could have cried she was such a beautiful ballerina.  And then came the jazz number~~totally cute.  Last was her tap dance.  It was fun and after years of telling her she needs to shake her booty more, she did!

The image on her card was found on Pinterest.  I downloaded it to my computer and printed it out.  There was no name or any info on the digital image.  She was colored with alcohol markers.  Time to switch to the big girl ballerina image next year!  And I already found one that will be perfect.  Have a great day!

Happy 90!

My brother and sis-in-law are in town for her Mom's 90th birthday.  So for Marion's card, I used Stampin' Up's Number of Years stamp set and coordinating dies.  I also used my favorite SU Color, Coastal Cabana.  Since Coastal Cabana is a returning color, I don't have to worry about making my stashed Coastal Cabana last forever!  That means you will see more Coastal Cabana cards in the future!  It sure is nice having my brother and sister-in-law around.  I will hate to see them leave next week.  Have a great weekend and find yourself a little stampin' time!

Hummingbird & Hugs

Since I have been seeing a  number of hummingbirds at our feeders, I took out the Hummingbird Thanks stamp set from Pretty Pink Posh.  I stamped a few and heat embossed them and then just played with different color combinations.  The little hummingbird on this card turned out the best so I built the card around him.  I used retired Stampin' Up paper, coordinating cardstock and square framelits.  The word "hugs" is from Lawn Fawn's  Scripty Hugs die.  I did cut it a couple of times and glued the layers together to give some additional dimension.  And, of course, couldn't let this card go without sequins!  Have a great day!

Cute Mermaid Cards

A few of us had a crafting afternoon this past Sunday.  Kathy W needed four mermaid shaker cards.  She used the Mermazing stamp set from MFT Stamps.  Kathy water-colored a piece of watercolor paper with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Watercolor pens and used that for the oval rim and shaker background.  She did make four, but the farthest one back didn't show up too well so only showing three.  The sentiment is from the Friendly Phrases stamp set by Stampendous.  This Mermazing stamp set has the cutest little mermaids!  Have a great day!

Guy Greetings

During our crafting get-together over the weekend, Kathy Z worked on her Father's Day cards.   Kathy used Stampin' Up's True Gentleman Designer Series Paper, SU's Oval Framelits and the Guy Greetings stamp set.  As always, Kathy did a fantastic job.  Have a great day and find yourself a little stampin' time!

New Best Friend

I needed a number of thank you cards and this one I made for Sydney.  The little girl and her cat image is from the My Favorite Things stamp set, New Best Friend.  On the left side I used pattern paper and on the right side I used cardstock which was scored with my scoring board.  The edges of a stitched circle framelit were sponged before adhering the circle using dimensionals.  Once the twine bow was adhered slightly under the circle, I added the orange sequins to match her dress.  The Birdie Brown stamp sets from MFT Stamps are just adorable.  Have a great day!

Boho Classic

Richard Garay was and is offering a virtual class for only $5 and is available at RGStudio360.com  This fee includes the Boho Classic digital stamp set and list of supplies needed for each card.  Also included is the link to view the virtual class.   I had everything cut up and the images printed for the class.  The class was last night and I was introduced to Gesso.  All of his cards were brushed with Gesso and once everything was dry, he used watercolors to paint the images and backgrounds.  My attempts with Gesso weren't that great, so I just colored the images with my alcohol markers.  Only one background was watercolored over Gesso.  I need to practice using Gesso and practice seeing that it is okay to go outside of the lines!  I never thought of using flowers with cars, but these cards look pretty nice!  Have a great weekend and find yourself a little stampin' time!
