Sketch Book

I came across a cute stamp from Waffle Flower named Sketch Book.  So I ordered it.  The stamp set arrived and contrary to what I thought, the sketch book image included a few images on the pages of the stamp that were not separate.  In order to have blank pages, I had to mask the inside of the pages.   What a mess!  There were black marks and smudges on each and every image I tried to mask~~no matter how careful I was trying to be!

Once I got a decent stamped image of the sketch book, I could work on what little things could be on those pages.  The colored pencils and coffee cup are part of the stamp set.  The flowers and leaves on the sketch book pages are from My Favorite Things stamp set, Fluttering Friends.  The sentiment is from Stampin' Up's A Dozen Thoughts.   If I can master masking this image, I see many cute cards in the future.

Be careful outside and dress warm!  Have a great day!.

Get Well Otter

Today's card is cute and simple.  The otter is from My Favorite Things' Otterly Love You stamp set.  This little otter is so cute, I am going to make John's Valentine with him.  The layering ovals from Stampin' Up are another one of those worthwhile purchases.  I see myself using them as much as the layering squares and circles.  The sentiment is from Everyday Greetings by Pretty Pink Posh. The polka dot paper is from Echo Park's Dots and Stripes paper pack.  With the gray, white and black color scheme, this is a good masculine get well card.

Be careful if you have to go outside in this frigid cold!  Have a good day.

New Baby

I will be needing a new baby card in the near future and MFT's Up In The Air stamp set was used to create it.  The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted's Scrumptious Script stamp set. We know the new arrival is a girl, but her parents aren't necessarily into "pink for girls".  So, they are getting a green and yellow card and I think it is adorable!  Once again, I used the cloud stencil from MFT for the faint background and the Scan N Cut to cut everything out.  Stay warm and have a great day!

BRRRR Day

A couple of weeks ago when I was playing with MFT's Penguins In Paradise stamp set, I had this great idea to make a "BRRRR day" card using the "BRRRR" from Elizabeth Craft Designs' Cute Winter Sentiments stamp set.  It was supposed to be a birthday card but didn't turnout exactly as I thought.  Then I woke up this morning to a -25 windchill!  It might not be the perfect birthday card, but it is a cute really cold weather card!

Earlier this week I posted a card using Stampin' Up's new butterfly paper.  Today I am posting a similar card.  This time, I stamped and colored the butterflies using images from the Butterfly Gala stamp set.  So many possibilities with this suite of products~~and I haven't used the Gingham Gala paper yet!  Keep warm and have a great weekend.

Heartfelt

Isn't this a pretty card?  Another quick and easy card created using the Sale-a-bration designer series paper, Botanical Butterfly.  I didn't even need the butterfly punch for this card!  Both black and white papers are from the DSP pack.  The hearts on the butterfly paper were added randomly.  The "heartfelt thanks" sentiment was perfect and is a sentiment from Penny Black's Heartfelt set..  I did line the inside of the card with white cardstock and a little black and white butterfly.  Keep warm, be careful and have a good day!!

Black & White Butterflies

The new Stampin' Up Occasions catalog has a nice bundle consisting of a stamp set and coordinating punch.  I did purchase those things. I also received the coordinating designer paper (Botanical Butterfly) that is part of Sale-a-bration for free.   The paper is colorful on one side and black and white on the other.  I like almost every design in the pack!  The butterflies on today's card were punched from the designer paper.  I adhered the butterflies to black cardstock which had been heat embossed with a sentiment from Cottage Greetings.   The card was pretty, but needed a little something more to dress it up.  The perfect punch was used on two corners.  Every time I use the scallop corner punch, I wish I would have purchased two in case this one breaks.  A few sequins and the card was complete.  Quick, easy and pretty, too!  Be careful outside. Have a great day!

Pretty Pink Mailbox

The gift cards I received for Christmas surely have been well spent!  Mostly, my new stamps were purchased at My Favorite Things or Simon Says Stamp.   Today's card was created using Pretty Pink Posh stamp sets, Happy Mail and Everyday Greetings.  I watched a video by Yana Smakula in which she created cards using this set.  So basically, I mostly copied her!  The colorful mailbox reminds me of something you would see down in Florida.  As for the colorful bird, the closest I come to seeing one so pretty is Jen's Eclectus, Dexter.  I used Stampin' Up's retired Strawberry Slush cardstock.  This was an especially fun card to create.  Have a great day and find yourself a little stampin' time!

Balloon With Dog

My Favorite Things stamp set, Up In The Air, is adorable.  In addition to three hot air balloons, the set includes different animal faces for the largest balloon, multiple sentiments and even a  little house and trees to make a scene.  I chose to just use the cloud stencil to create puffy clouds in the background.  I used Copic markers to color the images.  The green plaid paper is from Lawn Fawn.  This is a perfect card to celebrate a little boy's birthday.

My Favorite Things is introducing new stamps and dies on their blog that will be available on February 5th.  I hope there aren't too many new things I need!  Have a great weekend and enjoy the warmer weather!

Sweet Shop

The paper on today's card reminds me of a sweet shoppe.  The paper, Dots and Stripes, is from Echo Park.  I thought it would make cute Valentines when I ordered it  After coloring the birthday cake (Sunny Studio Stamps' Make A Wish set), I reached for the Echo Park paper pack.  After a little pondering, today's card was created.  The sentiment is also from Sunny Studio stamps.  It is included in their Sweet Shop set. The paper is definitely good for more than just Valentines!  Have a great day!

Be Mine...

...Stitched Framelits are new in the Stampin' Up Occasions catalog. The framelit set includes 16 dies. There are a variety of heart shapes and other shapes, too. This set is not your typical layered nesting dies.  As a matter of fact, I sat down and watched a couple of videos to see exactly what all the dies did!

The first card (black and Melon Mambo) uses the largest dies.  When using the largest, you can cut just a scalloped and stitched border and a plain center heart.   If using both dies, you have the scalloped/stitched edge and the stitched interior heart.  So I cut the scallop/stitched border in Melon Mambo and the stitched heart in Whisper White.  The sentiment is from an old Close To My Heart set.

The pretty lace heart on the Chocolate Chip card is an individual die as is the small scalloped and stitched heart. The scalloped/stitched border on the white layer was cut using the border edge die. I used the group of hearts die for the scattered hearts on both cards,   I will be using other parts of this die set in future cards.  There is a pretty coordinating stamp set to go with the dies, but I did not order that.   Have a great weekend and be careful when you are out and about!

Love You

Another clean and simple card, it doesn't have to be just for Valentine's  Day.  It could be an anniversary card or just to let someone know you love them.  The "love" is from Stampin' Up's Sunshine Wishes die set.  I did cut it three times, adhering them together to  give the card a little dimension.  The other hearts were cut from miscellaneous dies and punches.

As I was sitting in my office yesterday afternoon, UPS delivered my Stampin' Up order.  The butterfly paper that you can get for free with a $50 purchase during Sale-a-bration is so pretty.  One side of each of the pages are black and white prints~~love it!  Have a great day!

Cute & Simple Valentine

It is turning into Valentine Week on my blog, starting with favors and going into cards.  Today's card is clean and simple.  The heart balloon was cut using Lawn Fawn's Party Balloons die set.  The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted's Scrumptious Occasions stamp set.  (I love the font in this stamp set.)  I used Stampin' Up's Crumb Cake cardstock for the card base and top layer.  The red hearts and black cardstock layer really pop against the Crumb Cake. This card is cute and simple!  Have a great day and find yourself a little stampin' time.

Tag Nugget Holder

Just when I think I found the cutest Valentine favor~~Lawn Fawn's Heart Treat Box~~My Favorite Things releases their new Treat Tag die set and Nugget, Label Treat Holder die set.   Hershey's Chocolate Nuggets fit inside the pouches that are sold separately. The Tag and two topper dies are included in the Treat Tag set.

Included in the Nugget, Label Treat Holder set are: a die to cut the opening in the tag for the pouch;  a die for the label to wrap around the nugget; a die for the border around the pouch;  and a die that will perforate an opening in the back of the tag.  I can see many cute things being made with this set.  Have a great day!

Little Heart Boxes

When Lawn Fawn introduced their Heart Treat Box die set,  I ordered it the day it was released.  Actually, I ordered it off Amazon for less than I would have spent at Lawn Fawn.  That doesn't happen very often, especially with new stamping products.  Yesterday was Cricut Sunday and I made these favors for the girls.  I used retired Stampin' Up Valentine paper for the hearts on the top of the box and a retired punch for the little hearts on the sides of the boxes.  These are just adorable!  Have a great day!

Snowflake Ribbon

My friend, Cherie, is celebrating her birthday this weekend and this is her birthday card.  The Snowflake Ribbon is a die by Memory Box; the snowflakes by Lawn Fawn; and "happy" is from My Favorite Things.  I originally made this card on Soft Sea Foam cardstock.  Unfortunately, when I heat embossed the word "birthday" in white it was much too light.  So, I redid the card using Coastal Cabana cardstock.  The snowflakes and Snowflake Ribbon were cut on Shimmery White cardstock.  The heat embossed birthday is much better, but still not bright enough.  I am thinking that I should just invest in new white embossing powder. Happy birthday, Cherie!  Enjoy your day!  Have a great weekend everyone!

Cupcake Day

It is a cupcake kind of day~~and this card is the perfect way to send birthday greetings to someone.  The images are part of My Favorite Things' Cupcake Day stamp set. The sentiment is from a retired Stampin' Up set.  This little girl image was stamped with black Versafine ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  I used Lawn Fawn's Fancy Scallop Rectangle dies for the white layers of cardstock.  These images from My Favorite Things are so cute.  Have a great day!

Birthday Candles

Today's card was made with the Birthday Candles die from My Favorite Things and my little hand-held star punch.  I had to try the new Distress Oxide inks I received for Christmas so on white cardstock I sponged yellow and blue Distress inks.  I then cut the candles.  The candles are one die and the flames another.  I used plain yellow cardstock for the flames and brushed the flames with Wink of Stella.  Everything was glued to a black piece of cardstock.  That was layered on to yellow and green cardstock and a black card base.   For the inside of the card.  I used the Big Birthday Sentiments stamp set from MFT Stamps.  Have a great day and find yourself a little stampin' time!

Tank You Card

Continuing with cute cards using older sets, here is one made from Lawn Fawn's You're Fintastic stamp set.  I used Black Versafine ink to stamp all the images and then embossed with clear embossing powder.  Everything was colored with alcohol markers.  A number of years ago I purchased stickers from Stampendous that looked like little water bubbles.  I added these above the fish and randomly on the white cardstock.

On another note, speaking of alcohol markers, Copic raised the price on their markers.  They went up $.61 each at Dick Blick and a couple of online stores.  They now cost $5.85 each up from $5.24.  At online stores such as Simon Says Stamp, the increase was $1.00.  Here they now cost $8.99 each.  If you are looking into Copic markers, check the prices so you get the best price!  Have a great day!

Snow Critters

Even though our weather hasn't exactly been real wintery lately, I chose MFT's Critters In The Snow stamp set for today's card. After masking and stamping the images on the white layer, I colored them.  Well, the polar bear didn't look that good, so I stamped, colored and adhered another with dimensionals over the first one.  I then brushed ink to give a blue tint to the sky, drew a gray line for the horizon and used a clear Wink of Stella glitter pen to create glittery snow.  I did frame the white layer with a narrow black frame before adhering it to the pattern paper.  Have a great day!

Feel Better

I decided that in addition to posting cute cards created with new stamp sets, I should create cute cards with old sets!  First up is Lawn Fawn's On The Mend stamp set.  The cards are quite simple.  On the white cardstock layer I stamped the tissue box first,  I then stamped another tissue box on typing paper, cut it out and placed it on top of the stamped image that is on the cardstock.  I inked up the vase/flower image and stamped it, overlapping the tissue box a little.  I took off the mask and now it looks like the vase is in back of the tissue box.  I used Copic markers to color, using light gray Copics to add shadows under the stamped images.  I layered each stamped panel on a coordinating color of cardstock before adhering to the card base.   Definitely clean and simple and cute, too!  Have a great weekend!

Cup of Cocoa

Yesterday was a glass of hearts and today is a mug of hot cocoa.  The image on today's post is another Elizabeth Craft Designs die set, Hot Chocolate.  This one was much quicker to assemble.  After cutting the pieces and sponging the edges, I adhered the pieces to a red cardstock packet I made.  Inside the packet is a pack hot cocoa mix,  As you pull up the ribbon, the cocoa mix appears.   The bottom of the packet is adhered together with score tape and then a crimper tool.  This cup of hot chocolate is very cute.  I wish it was a little smaller.  Have a great day!

Glass of Hearts

Even though I have a few more cute bird cards to show, I decided to share a cute Valentine I made.  The card was created using dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs and assorted punches. The die set is Summer Drink and it shows a cute Mason Jar glass filled with lemonade. limes, ice cubes~~adorable!  And then in a little corner it shows the Mason Jar glass filled with hearts.  So I set out to make something similar.  It is cute, but it did take a while to complete.  Maybe future cards using this die set will take less time as I have a better idea as to what needs to be done.  Next time, I for sure will make the label the same color as the background layer of the card.  (I will also adhere the glass straighter~~lol!)  Have a great day!
