Fall Leaf

Today's card is most definitely clean and simple!  The leaf is from the Colorful Season stamp set. After stamping the vein layer of the leaf, I inked the solid leaf using Crushed Curry ink, sponging the edges using a sponge dauber and Tangerine Tango ink directly on the inked stamp before stamping on the card.. The leaf does have a die to match in the Seasonal Layers Thinlets set.  I did not use it as I wanted to make a card that truly was simple.  I like the stamp set and there are many great images in the set.  The thinlets set includes that cute Adirondack chair, leaves, snowflakes and more.  This stamp set and dies purchase was another smart purchase!  Have a great day!

Pretty Daisies

When friends were here last week, Kathy Z made a side step card using Stampin' Up's Delightful Daisy DSP and Night of Navy cardstock.  The coordinating daisy punch seemed a little too big, so Kathy fussy cut daisies from the paper for her card.  It turned out to be very pretty.  Using Kathy's idea, I looked to see what daisies were in the Cricut Design Space and there were a few.  I chose two for today's card, making them different sizes.  I have the choice of adding a piece of white cardstock on the inside or on the back for a handwritten note or stamped message.   Have a great day and find yourself a little stampin' time!

Happy Thoughts

Today's card screams Fall!  The Cajun Craze layer was created using my Cricut Explore. It is an image in Design Studio.  I sized it at 5" x 3-3/4".  The sentiment is from Pretty Pink Posh and fits nicely in the oval space.  The card was very pretty just like that but I felt the card needed an embellishment or two!  So I die cut stitched leaves from Lawn Fawn.  Have a great day!

Detailed Florist Thinlets

Last week a few of us got together and we shared stamping stuff.  I do not own the Detailed Florist Thinlets in the Annual Catalog, but I was able to use Kathy Z's set.  It is an extremely beautiful thinlets set as you can see from today's card.  I still have another diecut piece from the thinlets in Night of Navy cardstock that will be used on another card in the future.  Have a great day!

Happy 65th!

Yesterday was my friend's 65th birthday and this is the card I made for her.  I used the Sizzix side-step framelit set to create the base for the card.  I then used the Sizzix Triplets Cupcakes die set for the cupcake and cherry.  The "happy birthday" was from another Sizzix framelit~~the name I do not remember.  (Thank you, Sheryl, for lending me your awesome die collection!)  The "65" was die cut using Stampin' Up's Large Number framelits and red glitter paper.  I will say that I am coming very close to purchasing this die set!  Have a great weekend and find yourself a little stampin' time!

Little Evie

Sydney has a new little bird.  Her name is Everly or Evie, for short.  She is a Lineolated Parakeet, one of the quietest and calmest of the parrot family.  Evie is a bit bigger than Nipper and she is a beautiful blue.  Matt and I went to meet her on Monday and she is so darn cute.  I know that she and Syd will become good friends for each other.  So I made today's card to welcome Evie to the family. The sentiment on the card was written on the Cricut Explore.  The bird was an image I purchased from Cricut.  I thought the bird was cute before Evie came along.  Once Evie was here, I had a good reason to purchase the image.  It is now in my Design Space and I will have it to use over and over again.   Have a great day!

Side Step Card

I was all ready to purchase this Sizzix Side-Step card framelit set when my friend says. "Don't buy that!  Sheryl has it."   So I put it back on the rack and used Sheryl's side step framelits to create today's card.   I have made these in the past (long ago) and they were a lot of work.  The framelits were great to use.  I cut the card base using one framelit.  I then used my favorite DSP, Whole Lot of Lovely, for the top layer which also is a framelit.  There are framelits to create the pieces that fit on the "steps".  I could have used flower dies included in the side-step set, but I wanted them to look more like the flowers on the DSP.   So I used the Botanical Builder framelits from Stampin' Up for the flowers.  I sponged some Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock with Tangerine Tango ink before cutting the flowers.  I just might purchase the framelit set anyway now that I have played with it!   Have a great day!

Sizzix Stand Up Card

I had a great day at the Scrapbook Expo on Friday.  There was so much to see and purchase that I had to keep thinking about if I would really use something or not.  One of the items I purchased was the Stand Up Framelit set by Sizzix.  I used the set to create today's card.  Peekaboo Peach DSP and cardstock were used for the card and the pieces to decorate the card.  I paired up the Peekaboo Peach with Flirty Flamingo for the embellishments.  There are actually a total of 22 dies to this set and I probably used only four of them!  You will see the other dies on future cards.  For now, I was just in a hurry to try out the stand-up base.  Have a great day!

Halloween Pizza Box

Happy Monday!  I ordered some of the new little pizza boxes which are in the Holiday mini.  I knew I could do something with them~~just not sure what.  I thought one of the haunted houses I cut out on the Explore (posted on a card last week) would be cute.  So I sponged the edges of the pizza box, put the little house together and glued it to the top of the pizza box.  I added a few bats, a "boo" and tied it up with black twine.  The box measures approximately 3-1/2" square.  I am looking forward to seeing how others use the pizza boxes.  They are adorable and I am sure there are/will be many ideas on Pinterest soon!  Have a great day and remember it is "Eclipse Day"!

Cute Haunted House

I have been having fun getting reacquainted with my Cricut Explore.  Today's card is another project I created with the help of my Explore.  This particular house cuts in three layers/colors and is pieced together.  (It is very easy to line up and put together.)  The "boo" was also cut on the Cricut.  I did not use Stampin' Up cardstock as even with the multiple settings on the Cricut, things seem to cut cleaner using a less heavy cardstock.   That being said,  I do use Stampin' Up cardstock for card bases.  Also, I still only use solid core cardstock when using my Cricut.  I do not like the white edges that can be seen if it is not solid core, nor do I want to sponge everything I cut out to hide the white core.

Tomorrow I will be out of the house early, so there will be no Friday post.  I will be window shopping at the Scrapbook Expo!  Hopefully, next week I will be posting projects created with great finds at the Expo.  Have a great weekend and find yourself a little stampin' time!

When You're Feeling Down

I haven't created a card using Bella and Friends for quite some time.  As I was thinking about a Stampin' Up card to create, Bellla jumped off the shelf.  I sponged the background layer using Bermuda Bay ink.  When I was happy with the background, I used a little cloud shape and Marina Mist ink to lightly sponge little puffs of clouds.  After stamping, coloring and adhering Bella to the card and the layers, I wanted to do one more thing~~add a border on the Bermuda Bay cardstock.  The scoreboard is great for creating a design and adding a little texture to your project.  As a reminder, just be sure you have the cardstock face down so that  whatever you "score" is embossed and not debossed.  The final touch is the little Nuvo Crystal Drops.  I have played with them before and the dots turned out perfect.  Next time I will make the dots bigger.  Have  a great day!

Wood Words Border

I used a color combination of Lost Lagoon and Old Olive on today's card.  I initially was going for a Fall color combination, but somehow I ended up with these colors.  I guess I just can't get into Autumn yet!  Anyway, I used the flower stamp from the Wood Words stamp set to create the border on the left side in Olive Green.  I added Lost Lagoon ribbon (retired) and layered that on layers of Lost Lagoon, Old Olive and the white card base.  The sentiment is from the retired Wetlands set and the punches used are also retired.  Basically, everything on this card is no longer available with the exception of the Wood Words stamp set and Old Olive and Whisper White cardstock!  Have a great day!

Black Cat Treats

This treat box idea is in the Holiday catalog.  I used orange Jelly Belly beans to fill the clear tiny treat boxes that are in Stampin' Up's Annual Catalog.  After adhering the punched cat to the box, I wrapped the box with Halloween twine I had in my collection.  This box is 2" square and took quite a few Jelly Bellies to fill it.  So I decided to try and resize the cat using my Cricut to fit 1" boxes I have from Clear Bags.  I uploaded a punched cat to my Design Space and made a variety of sizes of cats.  I chose the size that fit the smaller box.  The eyes were added using a Sakura Gelly Roll glitter pen.  Cute idea and when Halloween candy is on the shelves, I will be making more of these.  Maybe orange cats with black jelly beans?  Have a great day!

Crate of Flowers

Today is the last day of Jar of Love week.  I got the idea for today's card from Pinterest, of course!  The wood crate is the front
section of Stampin' Up's Wood Crate framelit.  I used one of the patterns in the Wood Textures DSP stack to make the crate. After stamping it with the "Market Fresh" stamp, the front of the crate was adhered to the cardstock.  I had stamped and die cut a bunch of flowers and played for quite some time deciding how to arrange everything.  Today's card is the finished product.  Have a great day and weekend and find yourself a little stampin' time!

Jar of Love Day 4

Today's card was quite easy to create.  I stamped the flowers in Pumpkin Pie and then Tangerine Tango (stamping off once).  I stamped the leaves directly on the white cardstock in Old Olive ink and only had to die cut three flowers.  Wanting something a little different for today's card, a square card would different.  The background paper is from the retired Fruit Stand DSP collection.  There are no sequins on the card, but I am missing a little bling.  Maybe a rhinestone or two will be added!  The card is 5-1/4" square and it will require extra postage if mailed.  Have a great day!

Sending Love

Here is another Jar of Love card.  (By the end of the week you will either want this set or you will be done with it~~LOL!) I truly am enjoying the stamp set   For today's card I used the Sunshine Wishes framelits heart and "love".   After deciding that the card base would be Watermelon Wonder, I stamped and cut out the items that would be that color.  I then just played with colors to make the heart wreath colorful.  Somehow I worked Perfect Plum into the mix and even made the wreath Perfect Plum.  This is a pretty card and I will be sending this one to my mother-in-law.  Have a great day and find yourself a little stampin' time!

Shaker Jar of Flowers

I think this will be "Jar of Love" week on my blog.   I am spending way too much time in my scrap room playing with the stamp set and dies.  For this card, I used an acetate sheet and sequins to create a shaker jar.  The framelit set has a die to cut out the center of the jar which makes it quite easy to create the shaker.  And then the strips of foam now available thru Stampin' Up makes it much easier to be sure all the sequins will stay in the jar.  The colors for today's card are Rose Red and Island Indigo.  Have a great day!

Jar of Flowers

I have looked at the Jar of Love stamp set for a long time.  I really didn't need it and then I happened to look it up on Pinterest.  There were so many cards created with the Jar of Love stamp set and framelits, I finally gave in and ordered them.  I started playing with the stamps as soon as they arrived beginning with using different ink pads to two-step stamp the flowers.  I ended up making flowers using Melon Mambo, Peekaboo Peach and for a little change of color, Tempting Turquoise.  When all the flowers were stamped and die cut, I started putting the card together.  I think it turned out very pretty (But I wish I had  a little baby's breath to add here and there!)  I spent a lot of time on this card and it was well worth the time!  Have a great day!

Spooky Cat

Yesterday I received the few new items I ordered from the new Holiday Catalog.  I used the new Spooky Night DSP and the cat punch for today's card.  I did not order the coordinating stamp set as I knew I could punch a cat from one of the DSP patterns in the Spooky Night DSP collection.  I used the Layering Square framelits to frame the cat and the spider (the retired Howl-o-ween stamp set).  The sentiment is also from a retired set, Good Greetings.  Cute paper and a very cute punch!  And there are more cute things and pretty things in the Holiday catalog.  If you are a client of mine, I ordered a copy of the Holiday catalog to be mailed to you from Stampin' Up.  Have a great day and weekend and find yourself a little stampin' time!

Tickled Pink

I created today's card using Stampin' Up's Fabulous Flamingo stamp set and the retired Botanical Builders Framelits.  After stamping the flamingo with Pink Pirouette ink on Pink Pirouette cardstock, I adhered that to a Regal Rose card base.  Some palm fronds, sequins and a sentiment from the same stamp set completed the card.  Have a great day!

Orange You Sweet

I decided to see if the Cricut pens I purchased a few years ago still worked. I only tried the black one, but it did work.  I wanted to use the Cricut to add a sentiment to a card I created.  I used a piece of pattern paper from the Whole Lot of Lovely paper collection and fussy-cut some of the fruit.  After fussy-cutting the fruit, I wrote "You're A Peach" on a piece of cardstock using the writing feature on the Cricut.  Then I looked at the fruit and decided these aren't peaches, they are oranges.  So I changed the writing to "Orange You Sweet".  Before adhering the sentiment to the card, I asked John what he thought the fruit was~~peaches or oranges?  He agreed with me that they were oranges.  So I now have a cute thank you card when needed.  Have a great day!

Fab Flowers

Today's card was created using Lawn Fawn's Fab Flower stamp set and coordinating dies.  The flowers are all two-step stamps.  Having the colors of ink that Stampin' Up offers made it quite easy to decide which colors to use together.  I stamped all the leaves directly onto the white cardstock even though there are coordinating dies.  I will save die cutting leaves for when I make a box card similar to those on Pinterest created using this stamp set.

Today I was able to place a demonstrator order for items from the new Holiday catalog.  There were a couple of things that caught my attention, so I am in a hurry to get those~~like the Halloween DSP and the coordinating cat punch~~so cute!  There is a large selection of Christmas items in the catalog.  I just can't get into all of the Christmas things yet.  I am still in summer mode!  Have a great day!
