You Warm My Heart
I am a sucker for scrapbook paper. As I was going thru all of my Stampin' Up! DSP that will retire, I told myself I won't but as much from the new catalog. So today's card was made using touches of the soon-to-be retired Flowerpot DSP collection. I pretty much copied an older SU! card that was posted on line a few months ago. Not only did I use the retiring DSP, I also used one of the retiring heart framelits and the little banner punch. On the plus side, I used Tangerine Tango and Lost Lagoon, both of which will be in the new annual catalog. And finally, the sentiment is from Sheltering Tree~~will it carry over to the new annual catalog? I don't have that answer yet! Have a great day!

Sending Sunshine
Saturday was such a dreary, cool day that I decided it was time to send a little sunshine. Out came the WPlus9 stamp set, Sending Sunshine, together with the coordinating dies. I used some of my retired Stampin' Up! DSP to create the starburst and combined the colors of Daffodil Delight and Tangelo Twist. Next up I cut the words "sunshine" and the "hello" from Stampin' Up's! Hello thinlets in DSP, adhered them to black cardstock together with a little sun. Finally, I embellished both cards with a few sequins. I hope SU! has some new word dies in the new catalog. They do add a lot to a card front, especially when you have a coordinating stamp set to go with the words. Have a great day!

Baked Brown Sugar Dog
I was going thru my stamp sets and setting aside those that are retiring and it looks like I will be selling quite a few! There are even a couple with matching framelits. I have not even gone thru the DSP that will be retiring. I have so much of that, too. So I decided that for today's card I would use my least favorite retiring In color, Baked Brown Sugar. And it looks so cute on today's card! I diecut the Baked Brown Sugar DSP using the WPlus9 dies, Sending Sunshine Layers and the little dog from Avery Elle's Furry Friends stamp set. By using the Baked Brown Sugar cardstock, all I had to do was stamp the dog and cut it out. No coloring required, although I added a little Crystal Effects to his nose. I used SU's Banner Framelits and scalloped and oval punches and finished it off by using those pretty In Color sequins. I am most sorry to see the Coastal Cabana going away. Oh well, I am sure there will be new pretty things to take its place. Have a great weekend and find yourself a little stampin' time!

The Perfect Forever Stamp!
My personal enabler introduced me to a new product she thought I would like. And she was right! (Thank you, Regina!) I do like them; I did purchase some and I am sharing this product with all of you.
Direct from the United States Postal Service website: "People are returning to a more meaningful, more joyful way to connect with one another: sending and receiving handwritten letters and cards. From Me To You features not only 20 Forever Stamps, but also stickers and labels for decorating envelopes, letters and greeting cards. It's a fun and creative way to personalize your message."
These are Forever Stamps and cost .49 each or $9.80 for a page of 20 stamps. I ordered 3 pages and the shipping charge was $1.30. Hopefully the link below will take you directly to that USPS page from which you can place your order. From Me To You Forever® Stamps | USPS
Or maybe you can just go to your local Post Office and pick some up. If the link did not work, go to USPS.com; click on Postal Store and stamps; scroll down to the You and Me image; and click on it. I usually choose stamps with flags, flowers or birds. But I think these stamps will look very cute on the handmade cards I send. Have a great day!

A Speedy Recover
My dear friend, Chris, had back surgery last week. There was no better way to wish her a speedy recovery than with this cute little turtle who has an ice pack on his back!! He is part of Lawn Fawn's On The Mend stamp set, as is the sentiment. After coloring him with my Copic markers, I cut him out with a coordinating die. I am getting very spoiled with the recent stamp sets I have purchased that have coordinating dies. After stamping the little blades of grass (WPlus9) I adhered the little guy using dimensionals. With the turtle being cut using a die, I didn't have to mask the little blades of grass. I put him right on top. Have a great day!

Those Inside & Out Diagonal Stitched Frames
Happy Monday! I have to start by saying card classes this weekend were quite fun. I am very lucky to find myself in the midst of some really wonderful ladies! During card class we laugh, we swear, we share, we create and our friendships grow. Thanks to Stampin' Up and my Cricut machine I have met these beautiful ladies and I am grateful. Now for today's card~~I had to so many of the frames and layers that I cut when I first received the Die-namics Inside & Out Diagonal Stitched Rectangle STAX dies by My Favorite Things I had to start using them. I was cutting frames and layers like crazy and then I had my own stack of "what am I going to do with all of these frames"? The flower is from a retired SU set, but it fit perfectly into one of my frames. So it got stamped using Memento black ink and colored using my Prismacolor pencils. I then wanted it to stand out a little from the frames so I added the black layer. Tomorrow the SU retired list comes out so we will find out what items will not carry over to the new catalog. I will have the link to the retired list right here tomorrow! Have a great day!

More Birthday Balloons
Earlier this week I posted a birthday card created using the Action Wobble Springs and the Lawn Fawn balloon dies. As I was getting ready for card classes this weekend I was distracted by the dies. I thought it would be fun to make a more masculine version of the earlier card. So here it is! Same card but Basic Gray and black. The sentiment is from the Butterfly Basics stamp set in the Occasions Mini and was stamped in Gray. This is a fun card to make and the balloon dies are fun to play with, too! Have a great weekend and find yourself a little stampin' time!

Lots of Thanks
Today's card was easy to create and was created using some of my favorite things. Just as I used two circle framelits on yesterday's card, I used two stitched rectangle frames to create the frame for this card. The stitched rectangles from Lawn Fawn have quickly become a favorite way of adding a little detail to my cards. I stamped a butterfly from the Papillon Potpourri stamp set, colored it in using my Many Marvelous Markers and then used the coordinating punch to cut it out. Once the sentiment (Lots of Thanks) was stamped inside the frame, I couldn't resist adding a few of those pretty orange sequins from Avery Elle. Have a great day!

By The Tide
My friend and her husband are off on a cruise and I was thinking about
the ship and how I wouldn't want to be in a room with just a porthole window. So from that thought came today's card! Once again I did a little pencil coloring and I also used one of the background papers I made a couple of weeks ago. After fussy cutting the fish and seahorse I used dimensionals to adhere the fish. Using two circle framelits at the same time created the frame around the window while our dots were used as the rivets. The only thing missing is the hinge! The actual colors used were Marina Mist and Pistachio Pudding but they look brighter than that here. Have a great day!

Cactus Card
Yesterday was Cricut Sunday here and guess what? We didn't work on our Cricuts. At least Sheryl plugged her Cricut in! Nikki brought her Lawn Fawn and Avery Elle stamps and dies and I decided to make a card using a stamp set I do not own~~yet. It is the Lawn Fawn Stuck on You set. This stamp set required no coloring, just inking up the images and stamping. And then I used the coordinating dies to cut them out. The frame on the card was created using the Die-namics Inside and Out Diagonal Stitched Rectangle STAX dies. This set creates 4 rectangles with the diagonal stitch around the perimeter leaving three frames with the matching stitched detail. Or you can cut two of the frames at the same time which will leave the diagonal stitched detail on both the inside and outside of the frame such as the one on this card. I wonder which of our relatives in Arizona will be the recipient of this card? I will have to think about that or just get the set and I can make these for all the relatives there!!!! Have a great day!

Stitched Rectangles
If you check out cards on Pinterest now and then, you might have noticed that stitched layers on cards are popular. I purchased the Lawn Fawn stitched rectangle dies and used them on today's card. I stamped one of the flower images from Bloom With Hope and then colored it in with colored pencils. The sentiment is from the Clearly Besotted stamp set, Sweet Little Sentiments. I ordered the set as I really like the font. Unfortunately, none of the sentiments include upper case letters~~not even Christmas or Easter. Have a great weekend and find yourself a little stampin' time!

Sending Sunshine
Today's card comes from WPlus9 stamps. Actually, the card was created using the dies, Sunshine Layers, that coordinate with their Sending Sunshine stamp set. Isn't it cute? I opened the dies when I received them and just started running them thru my Big Shot. After I had a little stack of various diecuts, I just started putting them together on the white layer. Now, it took me a little time to come up with the perfect places for the diecuts, but it is fun to do. I then stamped the "sending a little" and "your way" and couldn't resist our little heart sequins. The stamp set also includes the words/phrases: you are my, send a little, your way, hello, you make me happy when skies are gray and in larger font, sunshine. Very different from my usual cards, but it s fun and happy. Have a great day!

Experimenting
I saw very pretty cards and the backgrounds were crated using Copic marker refills and Copic Colorless Blender ink solution. I don't have the refills so I decided I would try just scribbling on my work mat with the Copic markers and then add the Blenderless ink. Well, I am posting nine of my attempts to get nice backgrounds using the technique I read about. I used Copic markers, SU!'s no longer available alcohol markers, ink pads stamped on the mat and SU! refills. There are only a few that I might use on a card. By the time I was finished, I had a very messy island. For the last try I pulled out an aqua painter, dipped it into ink refill on my mat and made the pretty background on the "hugs" card. The "hugs", twine and stitched rectangle layer are from Lawn Fawn. It was quick, easy and looks pretty, too! Have a great day!

Carbon Monoxide Detectors
We had a wonderful Easter with our children and Mark's family. Dorothy made a great dinner and had her table beautifully set as always. There was lots of laughter, talk and more than enough food. Sydney made us cute little favors and was so happy being with all of her family at the same time. It was such a nice day. But things changed when Jen, Mark & Sydney got back to their home and walked in to all of their carbon monoxide detectors ringing. Maddie, their little dog is ok~~thank goodness. Sydney's little bird, Harmony, did not survive. Harmony was the cutest, most social bird I ever knew. I have written about Harmony and I know I have told stories about her, too. She was hand raised parakeet and Sydney loved her so much. Sydney is heartbroken. This is when I need to remind all of you that if you don' t have carbon monoxide detectors, please put them in your house ASAP. Carbon monoxide is an odorless, colorless, tasteless gas that is near impossible to identify without a proper detector. And if you have carbon monoxide detectors, they do have expiration dates! Take a moment today to look at your Carbon Monoxide detectors to ensure yours are up to date and protecting your family as designed.

Easter Treats
I had great intentions of having the Easter treat bags completed quite a while ago. Well, last night I was down in my scraproom making them! Luckily I had previously colored all the cute little bunnies using Copic markers. At least that part was done. I still think this little guy from Lawn Fawn's Eggstra Special Easter stamp set is the cutest! The paper is also from Lawn Fawn. What I like about ordering paper from Lawn Fawn is that I can get a dozen or more of the same design. I have a few more treat bags to complete and once again the bow builder punch from Stampin' Up! is a great finishing touch to any little favor.
Changing topics, from April 6th to 10th, SU! is offering free shipping on all orders!! I will have more information come Monday.
Have a great weekend and find yourself a little stampin' time!

Painted Blooms Easter
I have the pretty Painted Blooms DSP and I have hardly used it. So while I was thinking about an Easter card last night, I decided to use the Painted Blooms DSP. I used the Banners framelits, trimming the Wild Wasabi banner layers to leave a smaller border than the framelit actually cut. The Easter sentiment is from a retired set and it just fit on the white banner. Once again I used the Beautiful Wings embosslit to cut the pretty butterflies that adorn the card front dressing them up with little pearls. To finish it off, I even lined the envelop using the Painted Blooms DSP. Have a great day!

Calypso Butterfly Basics
When we got home from the tax woman, I went down to my scraproom to clean up from the weekend. While I was down there I made another butterfly card and used those darn sequins again, too! Even though the Butterflies thinlets and coordinating stamp set, Butterfly Basics, are currently unavailable, they are two of my favorite items in the Occasions Mini. For today's card I used Calypso Coral cardstock and ink, stamping off first on scrap paper before stamping on the cardstock. I then recalled there was a little butterfly stamp in the Perpetual Birthday Calendar stamp set and added that image to the card. To complete the card, I added my favorite sentiment from A Dozen Thoughts. Hopefully the Butterfly thinlets and Butterfly Basics will be back in stock shortly. Once they are, I will let you know. Have a great day and get out and enjoy the beautiful day we are going to have here.
