Couldn't let the day pass without one more red, white and blue card, my way of saying thank you to all who have in one way or another protected this great country of ours! And after I mentioned in an earlier post that my Dad served on the USS Iowa, this news article with a picture of the USS Iowa and a little background on that battleship appeared on the CNN news blog:My Dad would be thrilled if he was with us today to see "his ship" under the Golden Gate Bridge. Not only was the battleship special to him, but one of the songs he sang very often was "I Left My Heart In San Francisco". My mom just told me yesterday that he saw the USS Iowa for the first time in San Francisco. This one's for you, Dad!
