Scallop Top Favors

I wasn't sure what to make for today's post until I saw a favor by Chelsea Comer of Amuse Studio on Facebook.  I knew then I would create my version of the favor using Stampin' Up supplies for today's post.  The favors were all created using the Scallop Tag Topper Punch.  After cutting the cardstock the correct length, I scored it and then punched each end.  So the first favor was 1-1/2" wide by 5", a little too small to fit the "Boo!" die cut on it.  The next one I cut 1-3/4" wide and the same length.  Much better fit for the "Boo!".  And finally, I wanted to make a favor using a different die from the Boo To You die set and it was the little pumpkin.  So this last one I cut 2" wide and 6" long.  I then scored the cardstock at 2-1/2" and 3-1/2" before punching the scallop top..  The sequins are again from Pretty Pink Posh's  Halloween assortment.  I absolutely love the colors in that assortment.  After experimenting with the three sizes, I have decided that when I make more of this type of favor, I will cut them 1-3/4" wide and 6" long.  They perfectly fit a Hershey Nugget which is wrapped in coordinating paper and adhered to the favor bottom using glue dots.  Have a great day and find yourself a little stmapin' time!

White Brick Wall

Happy Monday!  Here is the plain untouched brick wall I mentioned I should try in one of my previous posts.  The wreath against it is very striking, more so in person.  After adding the sentiment at the bottom of the card, the upper left corner needed a little something so I just fussy cut a few leaves from another wreath.  And I just love the wreath!!  Thank you Kathy Z. for reminding me about the baby wipe technique!  Have a great day!

Happy Birthday, Matt!

Today is another special day for me and my family.  Our son, Matthew, celebrates his 37th birthday.  I will be meeting him for breakfast shortly, but I wanted to share the card I made for him.  He loved Scooby Doo when he was a little kid.  And I saw this  Paw-some Stamp & Die combo on Taylored Expressions and the dog looked so much like Scooby Doo, that I had to have it to create Matt's card.  Isn't it cute?  So what is worse~~spending $6 on a Hallmark card or spending $17 for a stamp set and die to make a birthday card?  Hahaha!!!!  I will be using the stamp set and die more than just once!  Have a great day and a wonderful weekend!

The Other Wall Card

This wall has a totally different look from yesterday's card.  First off, yesterday's brick wall was vertical and today's is horizontal.  With the new 6 x 6 embossing folders the card front can fit in the embossing folder in either direction~~a nice feature.  Secondly, today's brick wall is much lighter toned.  I used Crumb Cake and Smokey Slate on white embossed cardstock and layered that on Crumb Cake cardstock before adhering it to the white card base.  (Have I mentioned lately how much I like the new heavier weight white cardstock SU offers?)  Once I was pleased with the brick color, I then wondered what I should use to embellish it.  Of course,  the Vintage Leaves called out!  The leaves are stamped in Crumb Cake on white cardstock and then sponged in Cherry Cobbler, Hello Honey & Meadow Moss.  A layer of clear Wink of Stella was brushed on the leaves and a little of the gold thread added behind them.  The sentiment was cut using a die from the Hello You thinlits. The brick embossing folder is one I highly recommend adding to your collection.  Maybe tomorrow I will post a card where I use the embossing folder just as it is without any ink sponged on.  Until then, have a great day!
