Happy Halloween!

Isn't this Halloween card so cute?  Kathy Z sent this to me and John and I wanted to share.  I also want to share the favor Kathy Z made for the teachers at her daughter's school.  Kathy made a total of 80~~yes~~80 favors!  I think abut 70 went to her daughter's school.  The others went to her grandchildren's teachers.  At any rate, they are  "spooky cute" and I am sure will be admired by all who receive them.  Have a Spooktacular Halloween!

Pretty Leaves

My friend, Nancy, created today's pretty Fall card.  I love the colors she used.   I can look out my windows and see colors that are very similar to this card.  Nancy used the leaves from the Colorful Seasons stamp set and from the Seasonal Layers thinlet set.  She brings it all together by using Crushed Curry cardstock and the Crushed Curry DSP from the Color Theory DSP Stack with touches of orange.  So very pretty!  Have a great day!

Lip Balm Favors

Aren't these so cute?  The lip balm framelits and pouches are from My Favorite Things.  I used Stampin' Up's Scallop Tag punch for the holders/bases. The pink and green favor was my first one.  I wrapped the ChapStick in paper that coordinated with the tag.  The Lemon Lime Twist cardstock and ribbon together with the bright pink pattern paper and Melon Mambo twine make for a happy favor.  Then I moved on to making the Halloween favor.  The sentiment is from the retired Good Greetings stamp set and the DSP is from last year.  I added a decorative edge to the bottom of the favor and then added the ribbons and sequins.  And that is when I realized that I didn't put the little frame around the lip balm as is on the pink one!  Won't these be cute for a Christmas favor or as a little gift for your co-workers and/or friends?  Have a great weekend and find yourself a little stampin' time!

Witch Hat Shaker

This card was created using the Queen & Co. Halloween Hoopla shaker kit.   Everything on this card, with the exception of the bats, is included in the kit~~including the pattern papers and a stamp set.  The card is straight from a card I copied on Pinterest.  I don't usually buy kits, but after seeing Queen & Co.'s kits my enabler friends purchased, this Halloween kit called my name!  Have a great day!

Cute Little Witch

This is the Halloween card I made for my favorite girl, Sydney!  I used the Sizzix Side-step framelit for the card base.  The little witch from My Favorite Things' Which Way Is The Candy stamp set by Birdie Brown is so darn cute!  So are the bat, cat and moon cute and from the same stamp set.  The sentiment next to the cat is from a Lawn Fawn stamp set.  The color combination of lime green, black and purple just screams Halloween even without the color orange.  This card was colored using Copic markers.  It was a very fun card to create.  Have a great day and find yourself a little stampin' time!

5x7 Wedding Card

Today's card was created by my friend, Kathy Z.  This is the card Kathy made for Nick and Nikki. It is gorgeous and something you don't usually see here~~a 5x7 card!  Kathy used embossing folders, both white and gold cardstock, pearls and the bride and groom stamp.  Kathy even made the coordinating envelope! Beautiful!  Have a great day!

Wedding Card

Yesterday we celebrated Nikki's very recent wedding during Cricut.  Today's card is the one I made for Nick & Nikki.  I used print paper for letters, die cut the letters using the Large Letters framelits, and popped up on letters die cut from craft foam.  Being gray and white, I just can't capture the colors very well.  This is one of those "the card is prettier in person" cards!  Nick & Nikki  received some very pretty cards yesterday.  Have a great day!

Fall Thank You

The pattern paper on today's card is gorgeous.  It is from Prima's Amber Moon collection.  I ordered a couple of the patterns and one is prettier than the other.  The pattern I used today has touches of copper foil in it so Stampin' Up's copper ribbon makes for a perfect embellishment.  Between now and Thanksgiving you will be seeing a few cards I create with Prima's Amber Moon Collection.   Have a great weekend and find yourself a little stampin' time!

Merry Little Christmas DSP

Today's card ended up being totally different from what I first thought it would be!  The black and white pattern paper is in the Holiday Occasions catalog (Merry Little Christmas DSP) and originally I was going to use Old Olive patterns from that collection.  As you can see, there is not one bit of Olive Green.  Nothing I was trying was coming together.  In the end though, I think the black and white DSP looks pretty good when combined with the red background, balloon and stars.  The card has a masculine touch to it and masculine cards aren't that plentiful in my stash.  So even though this card was not what I had in mind, it looks good.  Have a great day!

Pool Party Thank You

Last night I was watching television and remembered that I did not have a card for today.  You see, I was going thru all of my stuff in my scrapbook storage area for the better part of the afternoon deciding what I should just let go.  You know how that goes!  I spent more time admiring craft things that were in my storage space than I spent actually cleaning, but I am making progress.  When my program ended, I ran downstairs and created today's card.  I am using retired scrap paper and a leaf die from the Seasonal Layers Thinlets set.  I have been using so many oranges and Fall colors, I changed things up and used the color combination of Pool Party and Soft Suede.  Not so bad for a last minute card!  Have a great day!

First Glass Block

Last week I posted a glass block that Sheryl made and in that post I mentioned I had purchased a glass block a couple of years and never did anything with it.  Sheryl came over the next day and told me to find my glass block and she would teach me how to use my Cricut Explore and vinyl to create the pumpkin. Yesterday I was at Hobby Lobby to get the lights and some black ribbon to decorate the block.  I added the "Happy Fall" to fill up a little blank space (I placed the pumpkin a little to low.), inserted the lights and tulle and added the ribbon, embellishments and bow.  Photo on left is with lights off; photo on right with lights on.   I think it looks really pretty and now I have to decided what I will make with the extra blocks I purchased yesterday!  Thank you Sheryl for the private lesson on using vinyl with my Explore to create something pretty!  Have a great day everyone!

Little Cauldron

When we went to the Scrapbook Expo a couple of months ago, I was introduced to Queen & Co.  They have some really cute shaker card kits.  I didn't purchase any~~even after my enabler friends showed me the cute kits they purchased.  And then I saw the Halloween Hoopla set Queen and Co. recently released and I bought it.  The set includes a stamp set, dies, embellishments (known as toppings), shaker forms and more.  I saw some really cute Halloween cards on the Internet created with this set so I ordered the it.  Today's card was my practice card.  Everything on today's card is included in the set with the exception of the cardstock and the stars.  The set includes a paper pad of fun prints, pumpkins, witch hats, candy corn and the cauldron~~enough to create 12 cards.  I made a couple others and will post those after they are mailed and received.  Have a great day!.

Cat Eclipse

I am still playing around with the eclipse technique, but this time it is with an image instead of a word.  This card is actually copied off of a card on Pinterest.  The flower from Wood Words was stamped in Night of Navy ink on whisper white cardstock.  Then the cat was punched.  After adhering the white layer on to the Night of Navy layer, the Navy checked ribbon was tied around the card and the sentiment stamped.  Now is when I wished I had purchased the Spooky Cat stamp set so that I did not have to try and add a little face to the cat.  I could have just stamped it!  Again, popped up the punched cat with dimensionals so a bit of the Navy underneath would show.  Have a great weekend and find yourself a little stampin' time!

A Little Sunshine

It has been so dreary the last couple of days, that I decided to make a sunshine card.  The word "sunshine" is from Stampin' Up's Sunshine Wishes Thinlets; the "sending & hugs" from the Sunshine Sayings stamp set.  WPlus9's Sunshine Layers die set includes the cute little two piece sun die.   Daffodil Delight and Tangerine Tango is a color combination that completes the cheerfulness this card will bring someone.  Have a great day and find yourself a little stampin' time!

Fall Glass Block

My friend, Sheryl, is quite proficient with her Cricut Explore.  While I make cards, Sheryl creates many home décor items.  Her latest is this glass block pumpkin.  (The only things I ever made with vinyl and my Cricut were ornaments with vinyl names on them.)  When Sheryl shared this pretty pumpkin glass block, I had to share with you.  After cutting the pumpkin using Oracal vinyl, Sheryl then had the patience to weed out all of the unnecessary pieces.  After successfully adhering the pumpkin to the glass block, she added lights to the inside of the block and tied it up with pretty ribbon.  I purchased a glass block a couple of years ago and that is as far as I got with making a home décor glass block! Maybe one day.  Have a great day!

Little Halloween Crate

Quick and easy to make, this little crate can be filled with a variety of Halloween treats.  After die cutting the crate and putting it together, it was time to decorate.  Couldn't be easier to decorate than this: punch the cat; cut the pumpkin (Spooky Nights DSP); and adhere to crate!  Filled cellophane bags with mellowcreme pumpkins and tied the bag with orange, black and purple ribbon.  Cute little favors!  Have a great day!

Sympathy Jar of Love

Over the weekend  I was playing with the Jar of Love stamp set.  While just playing, I made today's pretty card.  I used Rich Razzleberry cardstock and ink and Garden Green ink, stamped off once.  After stamping the leaves,  I die cut the oval (retired).  After adhering the flowers, I then adhered the layer to a Rich Razzleberry oval.  The white background layer was embossed using the new Layered Leaves 3D embossing folder.  Once again, for my purposes, I did not need to dampen the cardstock first.  The embossing is just deep enough without the water.  The sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set, one of the sets that will be kept for a long, long time.  Have a great day!

Basket For Fall

Today's card was created after watching a video by Bobbie of The Paper Jungle.  The basket is from Stampin' Up's Basket of Wishes stamp set.  The foliage and flowers were created using images from Jar of Love.  I colored the basket with two Spectrum Noir markers.  I liked the idea of combining the two stamp set to make this pretty Fall card.  There is space left for embellishments or a sentiment.

Speaking of markers, Stampin' Up is re-introducing alcohol markers.  In the beginning they will be available to demonstrators only.  After a while, they will be available to all.  Since I have both Copics and Spectrum Noirs, I am taking a pass on SU's new markers.  But when demonstrators start giving  their reviews, I will pass the information on.  Have a great weekend and find yourself a little stampin' time!

Little Fall Favors

While at Walmart the other day, I saw these cute Hershey Caramel Apple candies.  I purchased a bag, not sure what I was going to do with them.  But then I decided to use Stampin' Up's 2x8 cellophane bags to make a favor that would show the little apple shape and the gold leaves imprinted on the apple's foil.  I wrote "Happy Fall" using the Cricut and then die cut little tags using the Wood Crate framelits.  After sponging the edges, the tags were tied on using the red ribbon.  Now is when I wish I had some burlap ribbon!  That would be really perfect for a Fall favor.  I cut the bags down since I was only putting two candies in each cello bag.  I have been using quite a bit of brown and orange the last couple of weeks, so it was fun to use red for a change.  The chocolates inside are shaped like little apples~~very cute!  Have a great day!

Cricut Thanksgiving Cards

The Cricut keeps calling my name.  I see an image someone used for a sign or a card and I have to try cutting that image or saying.  Yesterday I was browsing through the Fall/Thanksgiving images that are available in the Cricut Design Software and those on today's cards caught my eye.   The "H" is a little lower than the rest of happy, but if I tried to fix it, I would mess up the whole card.  So, I will have to send this to someone who most probably will not notice~~I hope!  The second card took very little time to create and it is a pretty Thanksgiving card.  I can't believe that I haven't finished my Halloween cards and I am making Thanksgiving cards!  Have a great day and find yourself a little stampin' time!

Two More!

In my post last week, I mentioned that I would be making a couple more cards using the Stylish Stems framelits and here they are. The black and white card needs no explanation~~die cut the daisy and adhere the negative space on the white card stock.  The sentiment can be anything you want it to be, but birthday cards are always needed.  The yellow card took a little more work.  After die cutting the flower, I placed the negative space against the white cardstock and then placed the petals and leaves back into the negative spaces adhering each piece.  When I carefully removed the negative space, the petals and leaves stayed on the white cardstock for a perfect daisy.   Have a great day!

Hurricane Irma

Happy birthday, Matthew!  A few weeks ago, our son drove to Bowling Green, Kentucky to meet a dog rescue transport from Georgia. The dogs were from a shelter in Georgia that was in the path of Hurricane Irma in Florida.  If a number of rescue groups had not taken the dogs, these dogs would have been euthanized.  Matt had seven dogs which he (with Pat, also from HWMR) then drove from Bowling Green to the Hoof Woof Meow Rescue in Gilberts, IL.   Thanks to his volunteer drive, I have a new grandpuppy~~Irma.  She is the prettiest girl and very loving.  Sydney drew the charcoal and colored pencil drawing of Irma for Matt's birthday present.  Sydney is so talented and needless to say, I am a very proud Grandma~~of both Sydney and Irma!!  Have a great day!
