Butterfly Sympathy
Today's card is very pretty as that butterfly is so delicate. The cutout die is the Vivienne Butterfly from Memory Box and the solid die is the Darla Butterfly also by Memory Box. The pattern paper is retired Stampin' Up paper and the corners were made pretty using the long ago retired Scallop Corner punch. I have decided that I need to once again start using some of my 12 x 12 paper. (The collection grows and sits on my shelf!) The butterflies were cut out of long ago purchased Bazzil cardstock as was the cardstock that the sentiment was stamped on. I used my Misti when stamping the sentiment as I knew it would have to be stamped a few times to cover the texture of the cardstock. Have a great day!

A New Nest For Mom
My mother-in-law moved into an assisted living community recently. She is 95 years old and this is a big change for her as she has been in her own house all these years. I am sure it is not yet home, so I decided to refer to her new place as her new "nest". She has her own apartment with her own furniture and decorations. From photos it looks very nice. This card was created using Sunny Studio's A Bird's Life. It is hard to see, but the card base is the new Berry Burst. It is the one In Color that called my name. Now that I have seen all the colors in person, it still is my favorite and I will be ordering Tranquil Tide (and a few other things) come June 1st! Have a great day!

Tiny Little Favors
I am ending the week with cute, little favors. I used paper from the Delightful Daisy DSP. This little favor uses a piece of paper measuring 3" x 4-1/4". Inside is a Hershey kiss. Both of the favors were closed with a staple/ On the pretty print one, I just wrapped a piece of Calypso Coral twine and tied a bow to cover the staple. For the Tranquil Tide favor, I added a little banner and stapled it closed. After stamping the sentiment on white cardstock, I used a circle punch, brushed the edge of the circle with ink and adhered it to the banner, covering the staple. This is a little favor, but it is darn cute! Have a great Memorial Day weekend. Stay safe and enjoy!

From The Catalog
I pretty much copied today's card from the card on page 127 of the new catalog. The diagonal striped paper is one of the patterns in the Delightful Daisy DSP collection (a favorite collection). The white/light olive green paper is one of the patterns included in the Color Theory DSP Stack. This is a package of 6 x 6 designs, 4 each of 12 designs. It is different from any Stampin' Up paper packs I have seen so it will be interesting to see how it is used by others. I did not have the gingham checked ribbon that is on the card in the catalog, so I used retired Crushed Curry Ribbon. I stamped and punched the daisy twice, layering the two together. Before adhering the daisy to the card, I stamped the leaves and the sentiment from the Daisy Delight stamp set and adhered a Night of Navy twine bow. I am looking forward to ordering a few of the new items come June 1st, especially the gingham ribbon. Have a great day!

By now, all of my daily followers know how much I like the color Soft Sky and the chair from the Seasonal Layers thinlets. So no surprise to see a card using those items. But, I added the branch and flowers from the Seasonal Layers to today's card. The flowers I die cut after watercoloring Shimmery White cardstock. The sentiment is from a stamp I have had for quite some time from Impression Obsession. It is the perfect sentiment to go with the chair. And then I couldn't leave well enough alone! I just had to add a few sequins from Pretty Pink Posh's Springtime Mix. The sequins matched the flowers so perfectly, I had to add them even though the card was pretty perfect without the sequins. Have a great day!

Watercolor DSP
One of the items in the new annual catalog that I especially like is the Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper collection. Today's pattern has a watercolor look to it and the colors are beautiful. What I find interesting is that I matched the DSP to the old In Color, Crisp Cantaloupe. It matches the paper perfectly. And then I remembered that I had some retired Crisp Cantalope twine, too! The rectangle frame was created using the Word Window Frames from My Favorite Things. This die cuts out the frame and the inner piece. I tried a white inner piece, but that was too bright. So I quickly watercolored a piece of cardstock and when it dried, stamped the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes on that piece. I know I say this often, but this card and the paper itself is much prettier in person! Have a great day!

Peekaboo Peach Daisies
Today's card is a cheerful card. It isn't quite as bright as it looks here, but it is the pretty Peekaboo Peach ink and cardstock. I used the new Daisy Delight stamp set and punch, stamping the daisy once and then turn the stamp for the second stamp on the background layer. I then stamped the daisy image on Peekaboo Peach cardstock twice and used the coordinating punch to create the dimensional flower. The tag and sentiment are from the Wood Words stamp set and coordinating framelits. I am sure I know someone who would appreciate a bright and cheerful thank you card. Have a great day!

A Rustic Crate
Today's crate is more masculine and rustic than yesterday's vintage crate. For this crate I used paper from the new DSP stack, Wood Textures. This 6 x 6 stack includes four each of 12 double sided designs. Each crate takes two of the sheets which means you can get 24 crates out of the stack. Again, I used a tag from the framelits for the sentiment which is from the Wood Words stamp set. And then there is the copper ribbon. It is only 1/4" wide, but look what happens when you stretch it out a bit! This is going to be the Father's Day favor at my house this year! Have a great weekend and find yourself a little stampin' time!

Pretty Crate
One of the new items in the annual catalog is the Wood Crate framelit set which I used for this little crate. For the crate, I used Crumb Cake cardstock and Tip Top Taupe ink. I stamped the crate before putting it together. Then I made three pretty 3x3 cards with matching envelopes to put into the crate. The flower image and a couple of the sentiments are from the coordinating stamp set, Wood World. I have seen a few cute crate ideas and am sure there will be many more once the annual catalog goes live. Have a great day!

Enjoy Your Day Cabanas
Avery Elle released new stamps and dies last week and when I saw the Beside The Sea stamp set I new it was a must have for me. I ordered it on May 11th and it was in my mailbox on May 13th! Needless to say, I went down to my scraproom and immediately created today's card. I colored the cabanas and pail with Spectrum Noir markers. I used Soft Sky for the card base and a piece of Grapesicle cardstock from MFT Stamps (matched the purple on the cabanas almost perfectly) for a layer between the base and top layer. This was a fun and enjoyable card to make. Have a great day!

New In Colors
I usually purchase the five new In Color ink pads, paper and markers. This year, I decided to hold off on purchasing all of the items as only one In Color called my name~~Berry Burst. When my package of new items arrived, I was able to see the new In Colors and Berry Burst is still my favorite. I made today's card using the Berry Burst cardstock, ribbon and ink together with the Daisy Delight stamp set. Now that I have the cardstock, I am liking Tranquil Tide. Lemon Lime Twist might be a little bright but that color could be a nice accent color. I am including a little sample of the five new In Colors. I will be interested in seeing what you think of them when we get together next. Have a great day!

Mother's Day Favors
I had a wonderful Mother's Day yesterday and hope you did, too. Not only were we celebrating Mother's Day, we were also celebrating May birthdays. Once again I choose to use the 2x8 plastic bags Stampin' Up sells and Hershey Nuggets. All the candies were wrapped in paper from Lawn Fawn (originally used for Easter) and then slipped into the little bags. The cute tags are from Stampin' Up's new Wood Crate Framelits set~~a very cute die and stamp set!
And speaking of cute, this is the birthday cake Sydney made for her Mommy and Aunt Ida. It is a little brown dog digging into the dirt! The dog and bone were made using marshmallow rice crispy treats. She did this by herself and even cleaned up the kitchen when she was done. I know I say this often, but I do have the best family and friends. Have a great day!

Another Chair Card
Once again I am using the Colorful Seasons stamp set~~because of the sling chair. It is the same card I posted yesterday but something a little more masculine. I used Marina Mist and Crumb Cake ink; sentiment is from Butterfly Basics; and the sea grass is a miscellaneous stamp in my collection. The chair stamp is a two-step image. I added the diagonal stripped layer as I thought it added to the masculine feel. Have a great weekend and find yourself little stampin' time!

You Make Me Smile
I think today's card is very, very pretty. The adirondack chair is from Stampin' Up's new Seasonal Layers Thinlets. This set coordinates with the Colorful Seasons stamp set which includes the sentiment on today's card. The idea for this card came from Pinterest~~no surprise! Anyway, I made a circle stencil and sponged Soft Sky and Pear Pizzazz into that circle. The sea oats image is from the Wetlands stamp set, a set that is retiring. The adirondack chair is double layered and probably would look even better triple layered since it kind of blends in with the sponged background. The card is so simple yet so pretty that it didn't need any ribbon, sequins or anything else. Have a great day!

What would I do without my scallop corner punch? No matter what I stamp, that punch just adds the right amount of elegance to any card. Today's card was creating using the Watercolored Anemones stamp set from WPlus9. I used Flirty Flamingo and Peekaboo Peach for the flowers and Mint Macaron for the leaves, together with Wild Wasabi. The sentiment is from Amuse Stamps which is no longer in business. This sentiment is in such a pretty font~~perfect for wishing someone a Happy Mother's Day. Have a great day!

Pink and Yellow Mother's Day
This week I will be posting some Mother's Day I made for the special Moms in my life. Today's card is for my mother-in-law. I watercolored a piece of watercolor paper using Melon Mambo and Daffodil Delight ink. Once the paper was covered I dried it with my heat gun and then die cut the frame using the Avery Elle Wonky Frames die. I did not want the entire piece of watercolored paper on the card, so I used a rectangular framelit to cut it out. With that center piece, I die cut the letters from Stampin' Up's Little Letters framelits. I also used that watercolored center piece to punch/diecut the pretty butterflies. The sentiment is from a retired SU set. To complete the card, I added a few rhinestones which I colored with alcohol markers. Have a great day!

Jen's Birthday
We celebrated Jenny's birthday this weekend. It seems like not too long ago she was a little girl. Sunny Studio Stamps' A Bird's Life stamp set and coordinating dies were used to create Jen's birthday card. Jen's favorite color is purple and my Copic markers had some great choices of purples. After coloring all the images and die-cutting them, I die cut the top layer of the card using a Gina Marie Designs decorative die. I added light clouds using a sponge, ink and a scrap of cardstock that had little curvy edges. I then added all the pieces. The white layer on the inside of the card was also die cut using the same Gina Marie die. The little bluebirds of happiness are bringing Jen a year filled with happiness and good things. Have a great day!

Tea Pot Pop-up Card
My friend, Cherie, came over yesterday for a play-date and brought along some of her new stamping purchases. Most of the time we talked, but we put our heads together to create today's card. Both the stamp set and dies are from My Favorite Things. The Cup of Tea stamp set is mostly sentiments while the tea pot, cups and teabags are die cuts with no stamped images. My first thought was that the tea pot needed to be diecut using pattern paper. Nothing looked that great until I pulled out that vintage stack of paper I had purchased a couple of years ago and used on previous cards. (The coloring in the photos is not doing this card justice.) We agreed that it made the perfect tea pot and accessories. The great thing about this card is when you open it, up pops the
cups! Have a great weekend and find yourself a little stampin' time!

Birthday Ice Cream
The Cool Treats stamp set by Stampin' Up has a variety of ice cream cones and ice cream bars. But since I already have a couple ice cream sets, I just can't justify purchasing SU's set. Today's card was created using Sunny Studio's Sweet Shoppe stamp set. The "happy" is a My Favorite Things die and "birthday" is from Stampin' Up's Endless Birthday Wishes. I added little dots on the ice cream and then added a variety of sequins to the card. To add a little texture to the white layer, I used my score tool and made a 1/4 inch border. I turned the cardstock over so that the front of the card would be embossed instead of debossed. Have a great day!

Meet Piper!
Jen and Syd added a new little critter to their zoo. Her name is Piper and she is a cute, little chinchilla. I knew nothing about chinchillas until Piper arrived! They are nocturnal and Jen said Piper must have partied all night! The hay was all over Jen's table in her office and the food was all gone--eaten and not thrown out of the cage!! In the picture, she looks like a little stuffed animal. Right now she is only 2 months old. It will be very interesting watching this little thing grow. Have a great day!

Gingham Butterfly
This truly is a clean and simple card! I saw a similar card on Pinterest and since I had checked paper from My Favorite Things, out came a butterfly punch. This butterfly punch was retired long ago but with simple rounded edges, the shape worked well with the paper. I added antennae from the Papillon Potpourri stamp set and a couple of pearls. This is another card that can be used for any occasion. Have a great day!

Welcome To The World
This past Saturday, I had the pleasure of attending the baby shower for Jenny's sister-in-law and brother-in-law/Syd's aunt and uncle. The Grandma-to-be did a great job on arranging everything. The daddy (her son) is a pilot and he and the mommy travel often to Europe. So the theme was "Welcome To The World Baby M". I am posting a photo of the favors we made. The cute plane is from a Lawn Fawn set; the sun and cloud from Wplus9; and the heart from a SU set. Jenny found the map paper at Hobby Lobby. Baby showers are always so full of happiness. There was a baby at the shower and his little noises added to the "baby" atmosphere! Have a great day!
